feefee - it's mumoffour77 you need to try to catch up with. She comes and goes as like you she's got a lot on her plate. I know she was having an extension built so that (hopefully) her OH could come home.
It's usually easier to catch MOF77 on Facebook......I know she was going on holiday, don't think she's back yet.....but I could ask her to PM you fee if you would like?toottifrootti wrote: »lady L - how are you angel?
Not too good to be honest toots so keeping myself quiet, due to the fact I haven't done much in the way of flyingHow are you?

There are also MUCH less appealing jobs who have significantly fewer holidays and with all due respect people choose teaching as a career knowing the pitfalls and down sides to the job..
I don't agree with this because we all start our training and careers with expectations however unrealistic they may turn out to be but until you're in the job you aren't aware of the realities, the politics, the subtle, hidden pressures etc. However by then, contracts are signed, bills need to be paid, and it's really not an option for those who have done 4/5/6 years of hard academic study and training to then look for another career option. It's not feasible for most.
Many places in Europe appear to have a better work/life/school holiday balance with many jobs that are term time working only. This I think would be a far preferable way to work.
I think in the UK you are punished whatever you do, work, not able to work, study, whatever, our system is designed to keep you trapped. It's very, very hard to have options.
Teaching is supposed to be about teaching not hitting fruggin performance indicators.

How are you?
You're supposed to post to let us know you're NOT flying remember? Save your energy for the important things, but we're all pleased to see you when you have time to visit.
(((hugs))) Natty
Right... suppose I should go to bed. Yet again I haven't done the stuff I'd intended to!
ETA - Triker - I'm a bit worried that when you're better we'll spot you protesting outside parliament! I agree with you... I went into publishing because I thought it would be creative (turned out to be a production line like any other), and am now working in the corporate world which I despise (but ironically I function very well there). I'd like to be doing something green & fluffy and saving the planet... but once you get caught up in the rat race the bills have to be paid and then there are everyone else's expectations to live up to as well...0 -
