Been trying to sort out OH wages seems like nearly all day still not resolved . Sometimes I think that people think that you're thick because you're not working,
Hugs, that's horrible - grrr to all the people who haven't been sorting it out and helping you

Boots bargain alert - they have Natural collection on buy one get one half price and some of their Nat Coll is in the sale bits. I just got 2 gift sets which were half price at £4.50 for £6.37; DD can use them for gifts for her friends (and she'll pay me for them!)
That settles it, I am definitely going into the village on Friday, I've got quite a few things to do and going to Boots at the end will be my reward!
Have taught DD2 to make the noise of a guinea pig, and now rather wish I hadn't....

Why on earth did you do that? :rotfl:

Quillion, that’s awful, people can’t just walk into your garden and take stuff! How rude! Good for you for phoning the police

Embb glad your FIL and Lily are both ok

Flying: I've thrown away some rubbish and have decluttered some leftovers from last nights tea, which we had for tonights tea.

I am so impressed by Tescos Bath Creme. I'd bought it for 99p, to use in our handwash dispensers so I don't have to keep buying expensive soap, and we had run out of bubble bath so thought I'd put a bit in the water while running DH's bath, and I put a teeny tiny amount in and got loads of bubbles! Yay! He wasn't sure if he liked it as he couldn't smell it, but at 99p instead of however much radox is I think I will be trying it again on him and see how we go!

My headache is better than earlier, I'm not feeling sick anymore, but can still hardly turn my head. Going to get in the bath after DH and see if that helps.

ETA: That sounds like a great plan Valli with the allowance thing.

Big big hugs Jinky, PM me anytime you want to talk xx

We saw some at the zoo, and I used to have lovely guinea pigs called Kirsty and Jo...

jinky don't hand over your life to the GP. If they stick you on antidepressants, bear in mind they can have side effects...reduced sexual function can be one of them ;) Counselling may be better, or consider whether hormonal contraception is good for you?

I am pondering giving DS a monthly allowance to include pocket money + phone credit of £10 a month. But that would be it. NO more. So if (when) he runs out of money/credit (having blown it all at the beginning of the month) he'll have to do without. If he wants more than that he will have to get a job - but he's 16 in Sept so could get a job in Morrisons or somewhere.

I fact I could do this for them both...it will be interesting to see how much DD would save!

If anyone has any experience of this I'd be interested to know - DS clearly needs to learn how to be sensible with his money and fast.

That's what I do. My oldest three (14, 12 and 10) all get money at the beginning of the month and it has to cover their needs - Scouts/Cubs/ju-jitsu etc as well as whatever they want to spend (and also clothing, shoes etc in the case of the oldest). I decided it would be better to give them a generous monthly allowance and let them learn from their mistakes with that rather than their first wages or a student loan. We've found that it works much better than weekly pocket-money - they've become really good at budgeting and thinking ahead. Quite often they will even ask me to transfer most of it into their bank accounts rather than handing it over in cash, because they've enough left over from the previous month for cash-in-pocket.

When we started doing monthly allowances, I told them I'd lend them money for activities if they ran out, but that for every £1 they borrowed, I'd take £1.20 from the next month's allowance. As it turns out, none of them has ever needed to borrow against the next month - so it must be working! :-)

My 7-year-old still gets pocket-money weekly because he tends to lose it before he gets a chance to spend it...

I am looking forward to tomorrow's flying. My study area is in the living room so I attacked yesterday and our paper bin got emptied for recycling yesterday so the paper has already been shredded.

I gave the bathroom a fairly good basic clean on Monday so I am going to give the tiles a good go and wipe down the walls. I may even wash the mats and shower curtain!

what people fail to realise is the effects of a brain injury, i was guilty of the same you think someone either lives or dies , unfortunatly theres always major problems involved, we are trying to cope with a full memory loss, even of our baby girl, paranoia (extreme), major mobility problems, mortgages bills, and to make it worse you always find the person on the other end of the phone is a total jobsworth and wont speak to you because your not MR XXX its so wrong, if he CANT speak how can he talk to you... RAH RAH RAH. sorry ladies, had a quick flick through your all doing so well, feel free to nip in and help me....pleeease lol, im in rotherham!!!!!

Reduced libido is a symptom of depression really, I didn't think it was because of the AD's. You are right tho, they do have side effects and it's best to ask about all the options available. Personally I would rather take the tablets and have a reasonable life and even some happy feelings (wow!) than not take them and go back to what I was like, but that's just my choice. Counselling or CBT are good options.

Big big hugs Feefee, I know someone who's husband fell off scaffolding when she was pregnant with their daughter, and that was 29 years ago. She's cared for him ever since, and I've known the family a long time so understand a bit what it is like. If you need to talk, please PM me anytime. Have you applied for Carer's Allowance, DLA (for him) and all the benefits available to you? Have you got any respite care - the lady I mentioned didn't know til about 2 years ago that she could get respite care! Madness, the doctors and everyone don't tell you what you are entitled to. Trying to think of what other help might be available - your local social services should be able to help you with personal care and adapting the house if that's required. I will PM you if I can think of anything else - sorry if it's all stating the obvious xx
