Hi all, well doc signed me off for a month, if no change in 6 months he said he's refer me to the chronic fatigue clinic, however as there has been some improvement he said continue whatever it is I'm doing, he could offer no advice or treatment.

So came back, I've made a lovely tea, a bit ala economy gastronomy, got enough for the next three nights from tonights roast chicken (organic free range of course) ;).

Done 2 loads of washing, stardropped the disgustingly mucky bathroom, binned loads of empty bottles and harpiced the toilet.

Also swept the kitchen floor and changed the bed sheet on our bed.

Just resting at mo, now I'm not at work for a while I've got tons of things to catch up on when I feel able. I feel a list coming on.

Glad to hear that the GP is positive about what you're doing. Did he suggest you get the clutter shifted too ;)???

Make your list and work out what you can delegate! Don't spend too much time cleaning as the chemical fumes can't be good for you - teach the rest of the family how they work.

    Hello all

Just had a catch up....lovely to see lots of newbies- welcome!
Will post my list in a moment. Didn't sit down til after 8 tonight as I did dinner, washed up, did lunches for tomorrow (yummy brown rice salad), got all the meat off the chicken and started the kitchen :)

Managed ok on the course today, felt rough after the journey there but mainly as I left home 30 mins too late so was rushing! Feel like I'll be ok to go back to work properly tomorrow. ready for bed soon though.

GnB hugs to you, how awful.
Serena - so sorry to hear about your mum.
ellenandjess - the only thing i've found to shift a proper migraine is the stuff from the Dr - Sumaritriptin was what I had. mine were mainly stress induced just before my wedding, when I was moving house/area/job/life and organising a big wedding!
    Kazw - gorgeous garden!
Greenbee - well done on keeping the boss guessing!
rose - greenbee's 100% right. If you cut out stuff like that you will soon stop craving it (trust me, i know). The best thing I ever read was about how when you think 'i'll just treat myself to (insert treat)' think about how you're not really treating yourself at all, you're actually damaging your body, your self image etc etc. what kind of a treat is that? really made me think!

    Greenbee any use?

That's the one I'm using :D but it only has the maths for the square, not a circle! I'm sure I should have learnt this at school, and if I'd known it had a practical use it might have stayed in my brain!

Could you not make the square and then cut the circle out of it?

I think that's probably easiest as I have one of those adjustable square cake tins... I've got a 10" board to use as a template (I just need to remember to buy a 13" round drum to put it on before I ice it!). So I'll need 11 eggs for an 11" square - need to go to the shop first thing to buy 6 as I don't have enough. Then I can make it in the morning and freeze it tomorrow. I'll get it out again on Friday afternoon to defrost/split/fill/cover and then finish on Saturday morning!

Just need to check I have enough flour, butter & sugar too!

    Greenbee found this

You have to work out the volume properly, to acurately adjust the amount for different size tins. Assuming the recommended cake tin of 30cm dia is 4cm high, it's volume is approx 2800 cubic centimetres. A 17cm dia round tin of the same height, is approx 900cc, so the recipe amount would have to be reduced to approx one third. Think about it, as an example, a 6" square would fit 4 times into a 12" square tin, not twice. Dig out the calculator !! Volume of a round tin = height x pi (3.142) x radius squared.

Think I'm safer sticking with squares!!! And you should be having an early night...
