That's a shame, i think they would make a great investment;)blueberrypie wrote: »The formula for a cylinder is the square of the radius, times pi, times the height - ensuring all measurements are in the same units.
But the easy way to do it would be to fill the cake-tin with water and pour it into a measuring jug and convert from fl oz to cubic inches. 1 fl oz = 1.73 cubic inches.
(Alternatively, using metric, 1 ml = 1 cubic centimetre = 0.06 cubic inches.)
Yes... erm... think I'm still better off with the squares... my calculator doesn't have a button on it for pibut it's been interesting
I think I'd need an 8 egg cake mix - assuming I find an 11" round tin...
Anyway, I've made a note for future reference! Thanks!0 -
Rose - if you really want to lose weight, delete it from the order and buy yourself some carrots, celery, radishes etc to eat with low-fat hummus or cottage cheese. Or some nice fruit and low fat plain yogurt. You need to wean your tastebuds off sugar. Its a LOT easier to diet if you don't have the bad food in the house in the first place.
Rosep - Greenbee is right - how about substituting it for a pineapple, some mangos and coconut milk to do that Caribbean cooking.....I am the leading lady in the movie of my life

Hi all, well doc signed me off for a month, if no change in 6 months he said he's refer me to the chronic fatigue clinic, however as there has been some improvement he said continue whatever it is I'm doing, he could offer no advice or treatment.
.
Pace yourself Triker - I know when my DD got the Glandular Fever when she was in her middle teens, it took a year before she was really better. She was totally out of it for two weeks then went back to school but every so often she'd have a relapse. After a year I took her back to the Dr because of another flare up and a blood test showed it was still v. active. But we worked around it it. The gym mistress at school didn't like it that I sent a 6 month blanket excusal from PE!
Gawd, Crafty and her classical studies was a first - I never thought I'd see a reference to pi x r squared on flylady!
And Greenbee - you're right - spending the redundo on shoes is NOT the right thing to do. You may buy one cheapish pair but then how about sticking the rest on reducing the mortgage?I am the leading lady in the movie of my life

rosepink1984 wrote: »Elly, you are really amazing and I take my hat off to you. You are the one person who hasn’t given up on that girl, and it sounds like she is just pushing and pushing you. I hope she realises what a great mum she’s got and that she doesn’t need to do all that stuff. She hasn’t got any mental conditions has she, like depression/kleptomania or anything? It must be really hard on your LO’s. I hope they will be ok
Jinky, it’s so hard being away from the one you love, so don’t feel bad about moaning about it or feeling down. Hope you can be together soon
Kaz the garden looks great!
Merlin and FFP, I would like to echo what Valli said, you have both done really well coming through those experiences
RP - Im glad you feel like youre getting somewhere today RP - and I wondered where your DH was from! Glad hes enjoying the programme. Maybe he will whip you up a fab meal!
Merlin & FFP - Again, I reiterate what the others have said.
Kaz - please come to South Wales and spend the weekend with me first - Im fighting a losing battle with my gardens no matter how hard I try!
Jinks - please PM me, I know how you feel - or at least have done in the past. Rant and rave at me all you like and you can call me if you want to. Its always good for me to hear a scottish accent anyway!
Elly - Ive put my mum through the mill also. Was kicked out at 16 and went to live with my boyfriend who smoked weed all day every day....I spent the last year of school living away from home and finished my highers purely to prove her wrong; that i wasnt a waste of space.
We have been through more than our fair share of battles, but as Toots can bear witness to, we get on really well now and like Pigpen said, most of us grow up just fine and its NO reflection on the parents. My mum never condoned my behaviour....some people go through a bad or wild spell. Where as others are just bad. I dont believe that your daughter is bad as i can relate to her and what she is saying and going through. It brings back so many memories. If you want to talk, I and lots of the others are here for you.
I have to say I agree with RP's comments and wondered if she was perhaps bi-polar or something similar. She is very much like my cousin was at that age - and while i was bad, she was even worse. She was diagnosed as bi-polar a lot of years later, only after she had done her mother, brothers, sisters and friends (basically, anyone who was close to her) a lot of damage and she blamed it all on her mum and dad splitting up - which really was the best thing that ever happened to the family. Now I've finished working out what I'm going to do about this cake, I've got to plan what to do with my redundancy moneyApparently spending it all on shoes is not considered to be a good investment
Dont you dare Miss GB!!!!! I am begging the government for mine since i was kicked out of the door without mine!! Dont you dare blow it on shoes......not at least until ive got mine and can come and blow it with you:rotfl::D:rotfl::D
Serena and G&B - Im so sorry for your loss. I really and truly am. It reminds me how life can be taken for granted and how truly truly selfish some people really are.
Lots of love and hugs to you both.
Can I ask you flyladies a question please??????????????????
Have any of you had experience of someone being accused of something serious that you know they didnt do?
You can PM me if you dont want to share it with the thread xSometimes lurking, sometimes posting, but always flying
