I am not gettin very fair with the kitchen today, 1 step forwards, 2 steps back... so I have decided to make it my project of the week. I am going to pull out, scrub, organise and declutter. It's a teeny, tiny kitchen and there is nowhere to put anything hence the clutter everywhere.

SO I am giving up for today... gonna get some food in a bit, the chill out.
Roll on a new day and a new list!

Small steps for me - worksurfaces look lovely and the floor is now clean. Therefore I'm off to the shops til it's dry.

Holly - I got the recipe from http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/showpost.html?p=6246253&postcount=39 . It's soooo nice although my mixture was really thick so couldn't "spread" it in two layers - instead I made one layer, put the blackberries all over it the folded it in half and squashed it to the right shape!

Dinner in slow cooker, washing is airing outside... I might make me an old-schooler yet :j

    Back in a bit!

me too! outed me at 15 for being a complete s**t - best thing they ever did! ;) one helluva learning curve, but i wouldnt change a thing - life shapes us into what we are/become, parents try to help but its the big wide world that makes us sit up and listen imho.
When my dad died I was 14, my mam turned to drink and coupled with the normal teenage things I just didn't know how to deal with it all. So I done what made sense to me at the time, hit the self destruct button, I drank, smoked, took drugs and took myself off to London. I put my mam through hell. On the up side I never turned out too bad once I was able to learn to deal with things I just settled down but it came with age and experience. One of the best things my mam done for me was to throw me out of the house at 16 I lived in a supported accomadation flats for a while which made me stand on my own two feet and sort myself out. Never said thanks to my mam for that but it was the best thing for us all. Hope things work out for you both.

I bet both your two's posts have made Elly feel much better...and well done both of you for coming through that!

Well said Valli! You've both obviously come a long way. One of the things I really like about this thread is that we're all so different, and have such different experiences. We probably wouldn't all get together under normal circumstances, but due either to our OCD tendencies or (in my case!) lack of them, we've ended up in the same place.

I've learned a lot from all of you, and not just about housework! I think its great the way we're all prepared to share experiences and knowledge to support each other.

    You're all lovely!!!

After that emotional outburst I suppose I should find some food and consider doing something about the kitchen table & floor this evening.

Elly - really hope things get better for you I think that along the lines of everyone else hopefully one day she'll understand, see if she can get counselling, something \I would have poo pooed at one time but after suffering with PND it's amazing how it helps. I had similar with my DD1 when she was 8/9 running away, attitude, she was having a tough time at school with bullying too, terrible things said and accusations made (not as bad as your situation I know), my xoh never backed me up & never really was interest in her but as you it was all my fault. Anyway she is now my angel and my DS started and now he lives with my xoh (see him everyother weekend as I think he misses the LOs) but DD1 says she would never leave.;)

I was the best behaved of all my siblings.. I didn' drink or smoke or stay out all night... I cleaned and tidied and by comparison behaved impeccably.. and is till got hoofed... I think it is a good move for some.. and we do all turn out somewhat ok in the end.

Elly.. I bet in 20 years time if you need to ask one of them to do something for you she will be the one you can rely on!

Thanks everyone for all the kind thoughts, just spoke to my mum and there is no word from the mortuary yet, so cannot arrange the funeral.

Serena - huge hugs for you and your family, so very sorry for your loss.

Kitchen was all lovely this afternoon then hubby decided he was cooking dinner and made such a mess:rolleyes: So i need to do it again!

G&B - the post mortem report can take a few days to come through. When my Dad died, he had to have a post mortem. From memory, I think it was nearly a week before I was able to go and register the death. One thing I asked the coroner for was a copy of it. He tried to disuade me but I thought no - I want to know what a report on my Dad said. It was actually interesting reading in a peculiar sort of way.

You can still go and choose an undertaker at this point and start getting quotes and putting outline plans in motion. Then everything will be ready to roll when you get the go ahead.

Off to do dinner now - OH has grated the cheese so I expect there will be some tidying to do again ;) Found out today that my classroom has got asbestos in it and it was meant to being removed this week, but now isn't going to be done until next week, which means I won't have access to it until the kids are back on the first day! I've been worried enough about my first day, without the added pressure. My year-group colleague is coming into school with me on Wednesday as the Head called me today to say that our NQT mentor wants to meet up with us, and it'll give us a chance to set our classroom up the way we want it. She thinks we'll only be there for a couple of hours, but we're both a bit worried about the planning situation and when we're going to be able to meet up with the part-time teacher to sort it all out, as she's got a little girl so would need to arrange childcare. Can't believe I've got to go in this week! Apparently the 2 inset days we have on the 3rd and 4th are choca with policy reviews etc so no time to do anything extra. Have spent the rest of the day downloading display resources.

Oh well, enough moaning. I'd better check and see if the list for tomorrow is up yet.

I hoovered around the living room and hallway whilst I had the hoover out today so am slightly ahead.

    Hope everyone is well.

Big hugs for elly and well done to kaz for you amazing garden transformations.

    Night night all,

    sexymouse xx
