Who cares.......Live and live I say :-) I think there are more things to worry myself about rather than who gets what!0

It's quite a small amount to get so worked up over. I think you are feeling resentful because you had to pay full whack for child minding and you both work with no benefits. Not surprising, i have been there myself, lazy a***d relatives who seem to get it all for nothing. However it's not worth all the agro you will get for this, and they will guess it was you. If it was mega bucks i would say go ahead, i hate, hate, hate scroungers. Bearing in mind there are a lot of people who are desperate to work but there isn't any work around. Your sil doesn't sound like one of them. Moan to your dh if you want but leave well alone. You have your self respect as providers for your family, and can always say you worked hard to bring your family up,she will never have that.0

First of all, although I share your beliefs about benefit scroungers (ie people who view it as a lifestyle, rather than a safety net), there is no way I could shop a member of my family (in laws or not). As someone has already said, would it really be worth the hassle if your DH found out? If I was in his position and someone reported my sibling, risking a criminal conviction, over the sake of a private arrangement within the family, I would be more than angry, in fact I would be furious and it would certainly make me question our relationship.
Secondly, even if you do report her to the relevant authorities, I very much doubt there will be any action. These people have investigation teams that are stretched to their limits already, I can’t see them sending a team out to investigate this. Even if they did “camp out”, and see the child being dropped off every day, how can they trace £50 a week (cash I presume) between family members? And even if they did, surely it’s not an outlandish story to say it is expenses for food, treats, outings for the child?
I understand your anger regarding this issue, but I really don’t think your proposed actions are going to get you what you want in this situation.0 -
