I'm all behind again too sue
sharon I would definately complain loudly and strongly. When I had my ECG, they gave me a hospital gown rhat could be undone at the front to wear til I was in the room. I was then instructed (very nicely) to lie on my side facing away from the person doing the ECG and the machine and open it just so she could move the probe around. It was all done very discreetly and I didn't feel uncomfortable about my exposure or dignity at any time and it was something I had been worried about before going. A little of the scan was uncomfortable as my breastbone is enlarged and the tissue swollen, so it was a little sore afterwards, but she told me to ask her to stop if it got too painful to let me have a little breathing space.
It sounds like your ECG was completely mismanaged and I would speak to Oncologist about how you feel as if they are sending people for this to be done, they should be aware of how they are being treated at the appointments. Maybe cc any letter to Cardiology Department too.
I'll leave the others to do the beating up, but if I can be of any help in writing letters or finding info of who to complain to, I'll be happy to help.
Major (but gentle) hugs to you. I hope you can put the upset behind you and turn it into outrage - something you can act on to ensure change.I must go, I have lives to ruin and hearts to breakMy attitude depends on my Latitude 49° 55' 0" N 6° 19' 60 W0 -
Im all behind with the messages again, must do better
Sharon I just want to add my support to the others hun, your doing the right thing in complaining.
I just rang my Dad to see how he is and his wife answered, he's waiting for an ambulance to take him back to hospital again as he's still being sick ! I think he's been trying to cover it up from us all.
Got to go and pick up gd now as I've got her this afternoon, at least an a few hours playing dollies, painting and playdough should take my mind off it all for a while.
I'm really sorry to hear your dad's so ill Suep do your best to have a great time with GD and let's all hope for better news soon.
I've only just managed to read the new posts after having local anaesthetic in my eyes - plus those drops they put in to dilate the pupils. Honestly I look like someone drug crazed or else like I have the hots for everyone :rotfl:. DH thinks it looks great- typical bloke . At least the pressures in both are remaining stable so I don't have to see them again until next year :T.
I'm hoping to get to the Stitch 'n' B1tch tonight, providing I can a) see and b) sit for a couple of hours on what amounts to a leather dining chair. I am going to take my 'comfy cushion' with me though. We are having problems with the cafe we use as they keep deciding to close early, so I guess we'll just have to order more:coffee: and cake to make it worth their while staying open!:D Luckily I have just started a new jacket and the back is stocking stitch, so I can have a good natter without worrying about a pattern.

Ooops! Sorry sue - neglected to say how sorry I was to hear about your Dad. Fingers crossed it's a short stay in hospital if they decide to keep him in. Bless him about trying not to worry you, but it's bloomin annoying not to know what's going on too isn't it!I must go, I have lives to ruin and hearts to breakMy attitude depends on my Latitude 49° 55' 0" N 6° 19' 60 W0

I'm ashamed to admit that despite the user name I don't have an axe
I do have a chainsaw and am trained in its use though. Chain is nice and blunt and rusty so I can add my help in "educating" the young man who treated you so badly sharon.I must go, I have lives to ruin and hearts to breakMy attitude depends on my Latitude 49° 55' 0" N 6° 19' 60 W0 -
Sorry to here your dads had to go back into hospital-hopefully they can make him more comfortable soon.
Thanks for all your support -l phoned the community health council this morning and of course the perdon l need to speak to is not there till tomorrow so have left my number-if l dont hear by 10 am l will phone again.I think the guy needs a word in his ear -dont want him strung up just get him to think about what it feels like to be the patient like l was and improve things for next person.
Have had a nice day at support centre -Saw oncologist and she has stopped my steroids as its giving me awful stomache problems -so relieved!!!!She also got them to give me some meds via a mask/nebuliser and it so so so eased my chest so have to use inhaler 4x day till she reviews me next week.Came away feeling better as the breathing /wheezing is scaring me a bit so hopefully this will improve things.
Well am going to have an early night -half hour on my xstitch -its almost done-then bed to read my excellant book thats got me hooked but not getting far as fall asleep reading it after few pages!!!:j this money saving is such fun:T0 -

Can't say much as on my mobile in bed before attempting to sleep. Got 2 diff types of bolero and a shawl type thing to try with my dress in case i get cold/achey on the day. When any draft or cold sets in it sets off a chain reaction of aches so i'm keen to take preventative measures. Esp as my dress now sits in such a way on my back that it makes my shoulder blades ache (since it's been taken in). The order of service insert has now been designed and i'm hopin i can get them printed tomorrow night to make use of the [strike]minions[/strike]family members coming over for the rehearsal on sat.
In other news- sister has now booked her israeli wedding for 30th oct. What d'you think the chances of us goin are?
suep i'm prayin your dad feels better soon and that they find the cause of him feeling so poorly and it's minor and can be treated quickly.
sharon i'm prayin you feel the benefit from the nebuliser and inhalers. Btw-just a heads up if you've not used then before they can make you shakey for a short while after using them. Noone told me and it freaked me out! Made my heart palpitations a little worse at the time too.
Ttfn-it's gonna be a long day tomorrow and an even longer weekend so might not be able to pop in much. In the words of jerry springer: take care of yourselves, and each other."I am indelibly stained by hope and longing" - Nuts in May0 -

Morning all. Bessie Friend arrives this evening and I'm all excitipated *g*
Except for having to do housework as I want her to see the house looking lovely - I'm feeling lazy though.
Seeiing GP this afternoon to try to get sommat done fast about my carpal tunnel syndrome as it made walking with my crutches difficult and walking without them is difficult too. Also appear to have a cyst inside my mouth that I keep inadvertently biting on - needs checking out I think. Will also get cyst on the back of my leg looked at with a view to getting it removed as I end up catching it when/if I shave my legs. Anyone think of anything else I need to add to the list?! *g*
sharon I'm glad you had a good day and hope the nebuliser helps you.
sue any update on your Dad?
bz Dinnae worry love. Try to factor in some rest whilst you have slaves on hand?
pcl Whitney any better and are you managing to get the pills down her?
Unity Fingers crossed that DS is now in the hossie and that all will go well with his recovery afterwards. Make sure you don't tire yourself out looking after him please?
