How lovely of them to spoil you both like that-BZ -but l would have been sooo pleased to have another B2B with me or would have curled up with embarrassment-lm very no fuss/low profile!
Hugs to all and thanks for energy bill details.
Got up feeling down and had to go for echocardiogram in prep for chemotherepy next week.It has really not helped me feel any beteer as came away feeling embarrassed and just a bl**dy case number not a person.Got called into room by man and told to strip to waist-nothing to cover yourself with. There was a nice curtain thing so l asked if it called be used-l pulled it round -he said if you want in a voice that sounded like whas matter with her-so l said when the door opens everyone can see in-as ld been outside l had seen this.I was very conscious this guy was in 20,s and as l have totally flat nothing chest after 2 mastectomys and felt very exposed so drapped csrdi round front and lay on bed as requested and he looked and said put your cardigan on chair-so like a blooming robot l did!why dont we stand up for ourselves-or why didnt l?I asked him to be as gentle as possible on my rib cage as several ribs are close to breaking due to the cancer and he seemed not to even acknowledge my request. It has set pain off in them -which realistically would have happened and need scan so have to go with it l suppose.DDH very unhappy and wants me to complain but lm thinking well was l over sensitive as it was a bad day before l got there even.
sharonx
Sharon you are not being over-sensitive at all. I am quite horrified at what you have been subjected to. You have more than enough to put up with, without this ignorant fool putting you through even more! This is totally unacceptable and certainly not in line with the Patients' Charter' where you have the right to be treated in privacy and with dignity. I can appreciate that you may not feel up to the hassle involved in complaining - but, I would certainly give PALS a call and tell them what happened. They can take it from there for you and make sure this person gets a good telling off and some re-training on how to speak to patients.
I'd say it was unbelievable but unfortunately it's all too common and will continue to be so unless these people are named and shamed.
Sorry if I seem more angry than upset for you - that's not the case, I am angry because of the upset you've suffered. He wants a good slap! Some people hear voices, some see invisible people. Others have no imagination whatsoever

Sharon that guy was so out of order! I'm fuming on your behalf! Bad day before you got there or not, you were NOT being over-sensitive. Would he have liked to have his "bits" exposed for all the world to see? I think not! You complain, gal, you might just save someone else the same cavalier treatment.
Now, treat yourself to something nice this evening; you deserve it ((((very gentle hug, being careful of the ribs))))
Done it again Wolfie :rotfl:. Shall we pop round and sort him out?:DSome people hear voices, some see invisible people. Others have no imagination whatsoever

oh Sharon what a terrible time you had i really feel for you ! it's just not acceptable at all,,complain to them.
as unity say.... after the practice on the wedding dress raid ...this is going to nothing to sort up ..we will creep in and catch him tie him up, tar and fur him and hang him by the do-do's in the door frame for all to see ! there done! right find out the shifts he works ...the truth is out there ... on these pages !!0 -
thank you all for the support and for making me feel that l do need to complain-especially as if the dont know theres a problem then it just carries on as bad practice-which as a past ward sister l know well-l used to thank people for complaining so l could try and make sure it never happened again.
Have looked up Pals but wales doesnt seem to be in the scheme -but on the hospital web site it gives the community health council details and they seem to work similar to pals so will ring them in the morning.
Big thanks for helping me get it clear in my head what l should do.
Think the chemo date approaching is increasing my anxiety and DH convinced fibro is flaring as well so all dragging me down a bit.
hugs all xxxx:j this money saving is such fun:T0 -
:eek: That's disgusting sharon!!! I would have been in tears the complete b$&*@*$!!!!! Don't you put this down to you being oversensitive because you're not at all. I'm not surprised DH was upset!
BZ, that's really nice of them to do that but I know what you mean about being glad !!!B was there!
Off for an early night tonight. Didn't make Pathways appointment after physio app tired me out. Plus I was running low on tablets so haven't been taking the amount that I should. I rang to try and reschedule and left two messages on answer machine but what's the odds on them not getting it and them stopping my benefits!
Got my meds tonight so I should be a bit better in a couple of days. Can't wait for the kids to go back.......sick of hearing the arguments!
Hope everyone is as well as they can be. Anyone spoke to Raeh lately?0 -
Was writing when you posted Sharon. Glad you are going to complain!
I'm wondering why it's edited my post where I've abbreviated Other Bride 2 Be?0 -

Sharon - I know they say "Don't get mad, get even", but sometimes I think it is a good idea to get mad as well:D. My mum was unfortunately a victim of gross negligence - that's not just my opinion, but the opinion of two independent consultants who were brought in by the Regional Medical Officer to look at the case. After she died I would have caved in if I hadn't got mad and pursued the two local hospitals who had b0ll0xed things up causing her a great deal of pain and suffering and bringing on her death. Thankfully the fight plus the birth of DS kept me going for the first year after which it got a bit easier. So basically I'm saying that sometimes getting mad can be a good thing as you seem to find energy reserves you never had.
Take care and just do what is right for you. Some people hear voices, some see invisible people. Others have no imagination whatsoever

Hope everyone's appts go well, cwta recovers from her holiday in time for her friend coming (and then the wedding...obv!), sharon gets the strength to get them rollocked! And whitney takes her pills, kass and raeh's sanity returns once the kids go back, that (sorry I can't remember which of you still!) whoever wanted a bed gets a comfy one! And anyone/anything I've forgotten ...that everything goes well
I've been out tonight with DF and got the extra flowers for the buffet tables (that we didn't realise we needed), ivory ribbon for the posies, voile for edging the buffet tables (in the economic form of curtains from ikea!), and the stone chips I wanted for in the base of the vases. The extra vases tho, I couldn't find, as they didn't have them in my normal Tesco and there isn't a space for them on the shelf, so I'm hoping t'other B2B will find them in the Tesco she works within when I pick her up tomorrow to go to the trafford centre to look for wedding night underwear and other bits and pieces (which I can't even recall at this point!). The bridal shop rang this morning to say they should be getting my veil in on Monday, but if it's sooner they'll ring me...so fingers crossed please folks!! If it came on Fri that would be brill cos my mum could see the whole outfit together then, providing the seamstress is running to schedule. The to do list is getting a little shorter...but there's still a ways to go yet folks...and only a ridiculously short time left!!!"I am indelibly stained by hope and longing" - Nuts in May0 -
morning all
i was reading a blog the other day from the nurses point of view working on an elderly medical ward, and being understaffed pretty much permanently. http://militantmedicalnurse.blogspot.com/
some of you might find it interesting too. the two posts further down it about staffing in july made me cross, its not fair on the nurses or patients.
sharon yeah complaints about bad practice are good to recieve, i think i was lucky in my training and short career, i was taught hwo to do things properly and how to think for myself to adapt things to suit each patient as well as to listen to parents/family too.
bz it will all come together before THE day, i have faith. just dont forget to rest or you wont be fit for the day.
kass are they back today? hope the pathways people are not sods and did get and accept your messages, dont knwo what else you could have done to tell them.0
