We must have posted at the same time - great minds think alike eh? - must be the Pagan in us
. I can't believe it's only 19 days to Mabon - seems only weeks since Beltane doesn't it. I don't know about you, but I've only recently found that looking at the year in terms of the festivals helps with the depression. Although I dread Samhain in some ways
, I know it won't be long until Yule and then Imbolc :T.
When my sleep pattern gets all out of sync I find it helps to take Zimovane/Zopiclone for maybe three or four nights in succession - just to 'regulate my clock'. Mind you, no matter what time I get up - I still feel like I need a nap by the afternoon. Yesterday I didn't get one with having to go to the GP's, so by 9.15 p.m. I was falling asleep. DH was upstairs on the main PC so there was no one to keep waking me uphence I must have re-wound 'Ghost Whisperer' at least four times before I managed to stay awake to the end.
Must get to bed early tonight as I have to be at the glaucoma clinic for my yearly check at 9.35 a.m. tomorrow. This isn't quite as bad as Friday though, when we need to be at a hospital in the next town for 7.45 a.m for DS's knee op .
Gosh, that's an early start for DS on Friday. It'll be a good job done, once it's over, though. Will keep the ol' paws crossed.
I forgot to mention, I finally found a fleecy throw to put over our new sofa when it arrives. I got the throw on MK market, and it has a picture of a wolf on it! Perfect!:j:D I must've been meant to find it; I'd wheeled myself over to look at a couple of stalls while Mr LW was queueing to buy cherries - and there it was!:oIf your dog thinks you're the best, don't seek a second opinion.;)0 -
Hi Paparika - I just read the weekly MSE email and hope you have seen this bit:-Warning! Did you cap with Scottish Power last summer? Switch NOW to avoid costly locked-in tariff!
Last summer, to beat the ensuing 30% plus price hikes, 100,000s capped... one of the big tariffs was Scottish Power's Fixed Price Energy 2009. If you've got it, it finished on Mon (31 Aug). Act now. It's already shifted you to a new year-long capped tariff, and unless you switch before the end of Sept it'll lock you in with an exit penalty. Yet there are cheaper tariffs elsewhere, including caps if you want one. Is this legal? We're investigating whether it's allowed to lock you in by default, meanwhile the best plan is just avoid it, so do a ...Capped comparison. Most comparison sites only use your capped rate to compare, but more important is the rate the cap goes to. Energyhelpline* incorporates the new rate too (& gives £15 cashback via this link). FULL info & explanation in the Cap Guide: Switching from a cap. Main Guide: Cheapest Gas & Elec plus cashback
It may not apply to you - but thought it worth a mention - just in case.
Thanks for thinking of me. :T
I'm on key meter so i'm not sure that applies, but i know i should move soon, his nibbs prods me now and then when i need to fuel hopLife is about give and take, if you can't give why should you take?0 -
I'm quite looking forward to Samhain; not least because I'll have my little canine friend staying!:j There'll be the bash at the Robin Hood, too, which was good last year.

thanks unity i was just coming lookign for that article as im with eon who have done something too and i cant remember what. energy helpline just put me through to eon and wouldnt tell me where or how i might get a better deal and eon reckon i should be paying 60-70quid a month for gas and electric..yet a few months ago they ahd trouble believeing my meter reading becaus ei hadnt used much electric at all and indeed to get the meter to move on i ahd to run the washing machine to proove the meter wasnt broken..and she said then it looked like there had been a mess up with previous readings and i was being charged too much but i never heard anything more (and cba to try and sort it).im supposed to be on their priority thingymabob and they are suppposed to make appointments to have my meter read but they still just turn up on the door and promise to come back later/next day then never do....and the only way to get a reduction in their prices due to benefits is if you get pension credit. so time to change i think. k shuts up now.
lw that throw was deff meant for you
tomorrow im going to see slumdog millionaore at teh cinema...its the senior viewing but they said they would let me in once all the seniors are in adn i would pay the same as them, which is £3:20 and includes tea and biscuit...thats half their normal ticket price for other showings, wonder how they will feel about me having ccea card too though.0 -
how nice of them bz but i think id have been relieved to have another b2b recieving the same treatment at the same time too.0
-
Wow BZ I'd have been glad of other B2B for moral support, too. What a lovely thing to do, though.
I hope you're taking some time to rest today. If your dog thinks you're the best, don't seek a second opinion.;)0 -
How lovely of them to spoil you both like that-BZ -but l would have been sooo pleased to have another B2B with me or would have curled up with embarrassment-lm very no fuss/low profile!
Hugs to all and thanks for energy bill details.
Got up feeling down and had to go for echocardiogram in prep for chemotherepy next week.It has really not helped me feel any beteer as came away feeling embarrassed and just a bl**dy case number not a person.Got called into room by man and told to strip to waist-nothing to cover yourself with. There was a nice curtain thing so l asked if it called be used-l pulled it round -he said if you want in a voice that sounded like whas matter with her-so l said when the door opens everyone can see in-as ld been outside l had seen this.I was very conscious this guy was in 20,s and as l have totally flat nothing chest after 2 mastectomys and felt very exposed so drapped csrdi round front and lay on bed as requested and he looked and said put your cardigan on chair-so like a blooming robot l did!why dont we stand up for ourselves-or why didnt l?I asked him to be as gentle as possible on my rib cage as several ribs are close to breaking due to the cancer and he seemed not to even acknowledge my request. It has set pain off in them -which realistically would have happened and need scan so have to go with it l suppose.DDH very unhappy and wants me to complain but lm thinking well was l over sensitive as it was a bad day before l got there even.
sharonx:j this money saving is such fun:T0 -
sharon give pals a ring and complain about that tomorrow. thats completely an unaceptable attitude for him to take, they should be automatically providing cover and pulling the curtains to protect your privacy. you are no way being oversensitive.0
-
Sharon that guy was so out of order! I'm fuming on your behalf! Bad day before you got there or not, you were NOT being over-sensitive. Would he have liked to have his "bits" exposed for all the world to see? I think not! You complain, gal, you might just save someone else the same cavalier treatment.
Now, treat yourself to something nice this evening; you deserve it ((((very gentle hug, being careful of the ribs))))If your dog thinks you're the best, don't seek a second opinion.;)0
