MSE_Neil wrote:Hello,
I have been doing some investigative work in regards to the automatic log off with limited success for those of you that are having issues could you please let me know
1) which browser you are using
2) whether you are selecting the "Remember Me" button
3) If you know how to can you see if a cookie is being dropped to your machine and what time it is being set to expire (if you dont then answer previous questions anyway)
To clarify we have NOT changed the timeout on the forum on the upgrade - it looks like perhaps there are some other issues with the cookies not being dropped properly.
Thanks
MSE Neil
Neil,
I use internet explorer. I have selected remember me. Sorry I do not understand about cookies so cannot help you there.
I had to log onto today, but then within 10 minutes I was logged out and had to log in again.
Your help would be much appreciated.0 -
You used to be able to thank yourself.
Wonder if you still can.... Lets see..0 -

No Thanks Button
I didn't think I liked the Thanks Button, and I stopped using the site after it was first introduced - it became SOOooo competitive on here with people hinting at thanks etc. Plus all the 'cliques' thanking each other so their counts were high.
But now, I realise I do like the Thanks Button, it's the Thanks Counter I don't like. Why do we need to know how many times someone has been thanked and in how many posts?
No Avatars
I don't really mind these, but some are very annoying as they flash out of the corner of your eye. There used to be a thread on here about some people with epilepsy having problems as it induced their fits. I wish you could turn off the movement if you wanted to.
Well, that's my two-pennies worth.

YES!! I totally agree with that. It's the counter that's the problem. It just encourages pointless posts.:smileyhea "here, hare, here" :smileyhea0 -
Yes, I agree, it would be better if there was no public counter. You could always check your own thanked posts via the control panel if you really wanted to. Like post count it's quality not quantity that counts.
