With the new software avatars should be resized automatically.

But it's not accepting animated avatars right now. Don't know if they'll allow that again.

I have to put in username and password every time I log in, what a pain, come on tech guys, sort it out.

Still haven't seen an official response to this new cookie expiry issue - it's really annoying - I don't really want to have to clear ALL my cookies just for one site if I can help it, as that will clear them for all sites.

and yes I am ticking the " remember me" button.

Another thread has started on this topic:

    http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/showthread.html?t=190403

I've managed to cut down the number of times I have to log in. After logging in, when I visit a thread, if it looks like I'm not looged in, I refresh (in case the page is still in cached memory). This redisplays the thread - with my log in name.

(Sorry about the wording - hope the gist makes sense).:undecided

It doesn't always work, but helps a bit.

ARRRGGHH the automatic log off cookie is beginning to annoy me now :D It was ok yesterday as I was not on here long enough for it to log me off, but tonight it's a Pita (pain in the a**e!). I always clear my cookies after I've been on the internet so "remember me" option is pointless for me, also when I logged in earlier I clicked "remember me" and it STILL logged me out  Can we PLEASE have the old forum back
  • Hello,

I have been doing some investigative work in regards to the automatic log off with limited success for those of you that are having issues could you please let me know
    1) which browser you are using
    2) whether you are selecting the "Remember Me" button
    3) If you know how to can you see if a cookie is being dropped to your machine and what time it is being set to expire (if you dont then answer previous questions anyway)

To clarify we have NOT changed the timeout on the forum on the upgrade - it looks like perhaps there are some other issues with the cookies not being dropped properly.

    Thanks

    MSE Neil

    1) Browser = Microsoft Internet Explorer V6.0 SP2
    2) I don't use Remember Me
    3) Found the cookie (created at the correct date / time) but can't find any expiry details for it

Also when clicking on own name in a thread, the clicking on view public profile, then "find all thanked posts", page comes up as,
    "Not Found

The requested URL /post_thanks.html was not found on this server."

Is this due to the thanks button being missing?
