well im sorry you feel like that, but i see for myself everyday, i DO NOT tail gate, and i dont get tailgated, because i pull over in the middle lane after ive done my over taking, and let the other 'speeders' go past , i DONT sit in the outside lane for 3 miles letting people tail gate me.
I do go up to 80mph i have been known to do 85mph at night on a quite motorway, i wonder what percentage have never taken their car over 70mph on here?? even by accident??
YES going over 70 is breaking the law, but what can i do about the other drivers whilst im in my Vauxhall Astra? Im not going to put my life at risk to prove a point, as mentioned before, we all KNOW what its going to do - pi$$ the driver off behind, and what does that achieve apart from a near miss or accident
leave the traffic cops to do the law enforcing not us
Just like when i over took someone doing 40mph and they then decided to flash their headlights and tailgate me - why? because its the ' im doing XX mph so everyone else has to, and if you overtake me i'll make it known by doing something stupid' mentality
like the Micra doing 35mph in a 60 when 3 of us over took (safely) he flashed his lights at each over us and gave us a hand gesture- what reason? - im rule this road were on so back off!
And yes i think most people would love to be able to afford a nice new black shiny 3 series coupe, or infact a non german sexy fast sports saloon or coupe, id give my astra up this minute for one!
p.s i dont condone dangerous driving at high speeds, and always do 30 in 30!
It was the swearing I thought was unnecessary mate, not your comments about driving.0 -
I didn't know the website existed 24 hours ago, so I'd be interested to know what you're implying about me with that comment. I was making an attempt to back up my position with some evidence rather than unsubstantiated 'Everybody knows...' comments.
You mentioned the website twice in two diffferent posts which suggests an affinity with it.
I'd be more impressed with some stats from ROSPA, the Govt or Plod.
Plus some of the comments all apply to the same vehicle so that makes the statistics flawed for a start.
Nice try but it fell a bit flat. :rotfl:0 -

the hard shoulder has never looked so appealing.
And all they had to do was make that section to the Aidrie turn off 3 lanes when they rebuilt the road.........grrr0 -
I get irritated when people in front of me finish overtaking whatever is in the middle lane but then refuse to move over to let me through.
One that quite often happens is that they start moving to the left, so I start accelerating, then just as they get half way across the white line they stop moving, sit there for a few seconds and then continue moving to the left. I see it all the time, very strange!0 -
What's with all the BMW haters?, I thought that it was Audi drivers that had the worst reputation these days.
I never have a problem with tailgaters, £15 spent at the auto electricians cured that problem, and I will apply that tech to every car I buy.
Also helps having a sleeper car, looks like a classic dads estate, but has a tuned twin turbosurprises many an amateur, wannabee speed enforcer on the roads.

Nobody has said they hate BMWs. Just that the drivers of that marque are often selfish, arrogant and inconsiderate in their driving.

You will of course have notified your insurers of all of these modifications.;)0 -

Probably because the BMW 3-series is now the standard repmobile?0 -
This thread is like a stuck record and becoming very boring. If it isn't BMW drivers then it is men..........on and on ad nauseum.0
