Do you have a big car? Are you a bully?

I have never suggested that all BMW/Merc drivers are bad, just the apparent majority seem to be.
We are not ALL bad. I love the fact that my £60,000 Merc has a speed limiter, so I use it all the time - it annoys the pants off those people who want to go faster than the speed limit.
I dont tailgate - I hate it being done to me.
Actually my wife thinks my driving has improved since I got a new large car rather than the smaller old one I had before. It saves a huge amount of fuel if you dont drive aggressively as well - thus saving money!Garantissez-moi de mes amis, je saurai me defendre de mes ennemis0 -

Drive an older car and dont let them bully you. For added effect look at them or talk to them if your windows are open!0

I love that.
Sat Navs are great but you can't switch your brain off just because you've got one!!! :rotfl:0 -
Hi,Just wanted to ask some people how they are in there cars.
I used to have Vectra's, i love big cars, probably something to do with me being 5ft 3 and i used to cruise to work and back (motorway) quite happily.....until i downgraded to a small car due to petrol prices and tax.
Since this change i have noticed how increasingly 'bullied' i am by other people in bigger cars, it's almost as if they see a small car and think i must be going slow and want me out of the way.
They drive right up my backside and i have even had cars flashing me out of the way, i have to get myself 'psyched' up to drive home now as i know it will be one long fight. I never had this problem with my Vectra.
Although i love my small car now and would not get rid, unless i came into a lot of money:cool:
I use to have a tiny car & felt "bullied" by big cars, now I have a 4x4 & there is a marked difference in how other cars treat me on the road.
I don't have nearly so much trouble with tailgaters, I guess its hard to bully me when they are eyelevel with my exhaust pipe:D
It would put me off ever having a small car again.0 -
i drive a nice mercedes estate, i took me many years to get the car i wanted, i keep well away from all other roadusers as they are mostly idiots, so i dont bully as i dont want the trouble of having my car shafted by some uninsured immigrant, before i used to drive a big 4x4 with huge chrome bullbars on the front, i got called a bully with a bully's car in it by a little old man once who clearly had no understanding of a "give way" marking and thought he would try his luck and push in front of me, another six inches and he would have lost his no claims bonus, its all about perception realy, had i been in my mercedes i would have let the idiot get away with it rather than risk scratching my car, because i was in the pajero i stuck up for my rights, would that make it a bullys car or do too many people like me yield to idiots too often leaving them in the belief that there sad excuse for driving is the right way to go?0

oh for gods sake, all these anti bmw people are jealous (i have an astra), most will tootle along in there 1.4's and wont move because it makes them feel better. Just get out the $hiting way !!!!!!.
this morning it took me 20 mins to do a 8 mile journey - not because there was lots of traffic, but because there was 7 cars stuck behind some tw&t going 25mph on 60mph road!
no i dont agree with tailgating but if you want to do 70mph and the 'BMW' wants to do 80 move over and let them get caught by the police, its not your place to enforce it, plus if your concerned by having someone inches from your bumper more reason to pull over, unless of course you enjoy it, so you can moan about it, which i suspect is true.
someone in this thread made a point of tellin someone in another thread to 'get out the way of tailgaters because its not worth it' now there saying 'it's ok im within the speed limit.' Theres always gonna be people who will drive over the speed limit on our roads, so why not just pull over in to the middle lane and let them speed off in to the distance instead of making a big whoha out of it. what you got to loose, you've already said you dont want to go any faster
what annoys me more are the ones who DONT indicate to change lanes
While I am more than happy to pull over (I drive to the left anyway) if someone wants to pass.
I do most of my driving on two lane (up & down) roads (is that the right description:o).
If anyone does decide to tailgate me I go slower & slower, I have to, as they are driving so recklessly I have to go slowly incase they cause an accident;)
I don't get tailgated much, but a couple of weeks ago an old person (white hair, don't know if it was a granny with shorthair or a grandad). Had the hump with me doing 30mph in the village & started tailgating me (in a tiny car:rolleyes:). Just as I left the 30mph zone & turned a bend in the road a bike was in the road & a car coming in the opposite direction. The granny/granddad nearly smacked into the back of me then:mad:, I overtook the bike & they started tailgating again. If we had stopped before they turned off I would have got out & had a go, TBH I couldn't believe that after nearly rear-ending me they would carry on.0 -
What's with all the BMW haters?, I thought that it was Audi drivers that had the worst reputation these days.
I never have a problem with tailgaters, £15 spent at the auto electricians cured that problem, and I will apply that tech to every car I buy.
Also helps having a sleeper car, looks like a classic dads estate, but has a tuned twin turbosurprises many an amateur, wannabee speed enforcer on the roads.
??????
Did you have the brake lights fitted up to a switch inside the car or what?0 -

I want one of them:o
All 4x4 lights blind a little more than cars because of where they sit in relation to where car divers sit.0
