Probably because they were terrified as soon as they it looming up in their mirror, expecting it to be aggressively and seriously exceeding the speed limit! In fairness, and as mentioned in another part of the thread, the radiator view an inch from your back bumper nowadays usually has four rings on it - obviously the new thugmobile of choice.0 -
I actually find that the worst offenders of tailgating and excessive speeding / agressive driving tend not to be the drivers in big German cars but the people driving old rustbuckets of various makes.
I can kind of understand why they are in such a rush as generally the cars are between 10 and 20 years old and in such a sorry state of repair that they may not make it to their destination if they travel too slowly.
(And I drive a Ford Fiesta)
Agreed totally, not because they are worried about them breaking down, but because they don't give a damn about them.0 -

I dont tailgate - I hate it being done to me.
Actually my wife thinks my driving has improved since I got a new large car rather than the smaller old one I had before. It saves a huge amount of fuel if you dont drive aggressively as well - thus saving money!
My DH is a cab driver (someone earlier said they were all agressive idiots), so not true, as my DH says fuel is too expensive (especially when you use so much) to be burning loads of it up driving on your breaks all the time;)0 -

He needs to stop driving on his " breaks " then, have a proper lunch break etc.
I think you mean " brakes "..0 -
All 4x4 lights blind a little more than cars because of where they sit in relation to where car divers sit.
Which is why they should be banned - being blinded is exceptionally dangerous when you're driving!
I believe the EU is looking into legislation to set a maximum height for headlamps which would see almost all Chelsea tractors banned
As for the tailgaters, they can't usually catch me:A MSE's turbo-charged CurlyWurlyGirly:AThinks Naughty Things Too Much Clique Member No 3, 4 & 5
