Hooray! Just heard that our case was sent to the calculations department on the 28th October but that it takes another 4-6 weeks from there. Is that right? They've had the claim just over 7 weeks now in total and they mentioned that there had previously been a delay (I think due to getting all the various interest rates used from Wilmslow). Was kind of hoping it would only be a couple of weeks now....0

I don't know buns mum, I wouldn't have thought it would have been that long either! Why don't you try giving the fscs a call and see if they know anymore?0

Hi there
Its been known that they do say when asked about 6 weeks, yet a week or 2 later the cheque's arrived.
If you ring them again its possibly you will speak to someone else.
Good luck and all looking good.:T:TThe one and only "Dizzy Di"0 -
Another phone call in the morning it is then! My husband is already leaping on the post every time it arrives just in case a cheque arrives without warning. It will be so nice to actually get to the end of this finally. Not exactly been an easy ride to date so we just keep expecting the worst and for them to turn around and say we're not getting a penny!0

Hiya - just a quick update on my case- I called my caseworker at Deloitte's to ask for another update, to be told they were still waiting for the final piece of information. I asked if there was anything I could do to help, and he explained that they were trying to find out if we had a single policy or two seperate policies for my husband and I - if I were to call the insurance company he would "listen in" on my call and that would be validation enough for them. So he rang the insurance company and muted himself out while I spoke to them to get the confirmation that it was a single policy. With that final piece of info - he explained that was his involvement in my case finished and it would be passed to next department, which would check the claim. So feeling quite hopeful for a positive result soon.:)
we had the same thing last week in our claim against click. They no longer exist but the policy and loan were through First Plus. Deloittes explained that they were waiting for FP to confirm if any ncb had been paid/was payable so they listened in whilst my wife spoke to them. After the call the lady from Deloittes said that she was done with the file now and would pass it on 'to check if we had a claim' and we'd hear 'in 4-6 weeks'.
fingers crossed for a positive outcome. And i see you had a cheque within a week or so? what did they say after your silent conference call? had they already agreed you 'had a claim'? i was under the impression that they had already agreed we had but am obviously mistaken.0 -

I wish I hadn't botheredJust been told by Deloittes that all claims against Wilmslow are currently on hold so there will be a delay of a few weeks. How can that be when they've paid out against some of the claims already? Not exactly fair to change their minds mid way

Hi
I'm sure all is ok, you would have heard by now, so try not to worry, good luck.;)The one and only "Dizzy Di"0 -
There won't be a Christmas if this money doesn't come through! I'm pretty certain there's not a problem with the claim but just rather puzzled as to why all the Wilmslow cases are suddenly on hold. Is this kind of thing common?0

Hi everyone! Just phoned Welcome Finance for a further update to my previous call and I've managed to glean a bit more info on their procedure. My case is still waiting to be sent to FSCS... but the advisor told me that is the last step in the process (presumably before issuing payments). This means my claim has had all it's figures done; the FSCS just need to confirm the figures and that my claim falls inside their guidelines (which it does as far as I can see). I'm guessing this is good news - I'd have got a 'no' back before now and there would be no need to send it the FSCS unless it was being upheld, surely? I did ask if they could tell me the decision over the phone but they're not allowed.
So - step 5 will be FSCS confirmation & offer letter, step 6 will be payment.
She confirmed they have until 5/6th December to get back to me so I expect a letter fairly soon. Positivity reigns for now!0
