  • Was thinking today Di, It could be because when we signed them back in april the insurance was still running. It ran out at the end of sept. so perhaps thats why they wanted them signed and dated again?

Oh yes that's a thought, you could well be right here.

They may confirm this to you if you ring them perhaps.;)

  • Hi all

I'm newly registered although I have been reading with interest, this forum for the last few weeks. I recently sent a claim to FCSC for compensation for missold PPI against Promise Finance, I spoke to Deloitte's on Monday for an update, after being encouraged by other posters experiences - to be told they had heard back from the finance company and insurers - and that they were waiting for a final piece of information! I am hopeful that this is good news - after reading other posts. I will let you know of the outcome of my claim, as I haven't seen any other claims against Promise on this forum - although they are definately in default.

    Hi

I'm just a bit worried about a phone call received today from Deloittes. They received my claim paperwork against Wilmslow Finance (Freedom) 6 weeks ago. They phoned to say that a) the claim had been held up because they'd had to get additional paperwork from Wilmslow and b) they wanted to find out from me how I'd managed to pay off the loan early (sold my house, downsized and had cash left over). Since my case had been originally upheld by 2 adjudicators at the FOS I kind of assumed it would be quite straightforward (Wilmslow disagreed so I'd been in the queue for the Ombudsman for 8 months when they went into admin). Deloittes are now saying it will be another 4-6 weeks before a decision is made. :( What I wanted to know is if this kind of thing is standard or not? I don't know why they needed more paperwork and why is it relevant how I managed to pay the loan off?

    Hi there

    Try not to worry.
They do seem to work a little different to the FOS, and its highly probable a standard procedure before they can work out the full calculation. It maybe seem pointless to you but they do tend to want more info.
I'm sure all will be fine, because if the case was to be rejected you would have known well by now. x;)

Hiya - just a quick update on my case- I called my caseworker at Deloitte's to ask for another update, to be told they were still waiting for the final piece of information. I asked if there was anything I could do to help, and he explained that they were trying to find out if we had a single policy or two seperate policies for my husband and I - if I were to call the insurance company he would "listen in" on my call and that would be validation enough for them. So he rang the insurance company and muted himself out while I spoke to them to get the confirmation that it was a single policy. With that final piece of info - he explained that was his involvement in my case finished and it would be passed to next department, which would check the claim. So feeling quite hopeful for a positive result soon.:)
  • Hiya, update on my claim. Received the paper work from Deloitte's - all filled in and ready to post out today! Fingers crossed! Good Luck to everyone who's going through the same antagonising painfull experience!
