I'm going to go ahead and try and claim from welcome,a nd have just seen here that they are in default. I was going to send a SAr request to them as i have none of the original paperwork, but not sure whether can do this now? Would it help to have it or would i be able to fill in a form from the fscs without any?

    Thanks

    Hi there
Was Welcome the broker of your loan and lender, or just the broker and a different lender.

If the lender is still active, they will have the details of your account, because the broker passes on your details to them once the loan completes.
The paperwork is helpful if you have nothing and the FSCS will accept the lenders paperwork as they will know what is what.

    SAR letter template below.

im pretty sure it was all Welcome, they are the only ones i seemed to deal with, and it was one of their representatives that came round and re-write a new loan with us. Hence wasnt sure where to send sar request to.

    thanks :)

    Hi

If Welcome were both the lender and the broker, I am not sure where you would stand on the SAR side of it, if they are no longer active, maybe they will still have the data dept open though, so you could ring them and make sure. They will give you the details of where to send your SAR request.

But if you had a lender as well, write to their address.

For example, on one of mine, the broker who set mine up was Twopart/Eloan.co.uk, they dissolved, so I asked the lender who was Nemo personal finance for the SAR.;)

  • Hi everyone. I'm a little confused this morning as I phoned Deloitte for an update and the lady said that it had been passed downstairs to the claim dept and that the decision has been made and we should receive something in the post this week. When I asked her if she could tell me what the decision was, she said she couldn't! I thought that was odd and to be honest sounds like it's probably bad news as otherwise why wouldn't they tell me.
So, I decided to phone fscs to see if they could give me an update after I explained what I had been told. They told me that it wasn't quite right what Deloitte had said and that they have to return it to fscs first for sign off. So confused! I just want to know if we're successful or not. They've had the claim for about 3 weeks now. Why can't anyone tell me anything over the phone!!?

It all just sounds like a big fat no to me :(

    Hi there

I'm sure if it were bad news you would have heard something well by now.
How long has your case been with them in total (FSCS to Delottes)?

First stages - you send your completed details to the FSCS, they pass on your case to Deloittes.

I cannot recall on being told by Deloittes themselves, but when contacted the FSCS when it was passed back to them, they did from what I remember confirm it was successful.

Then once case completed they pass it back on to the FSCS, which I assume going by what you were told, it will be this week.

The FSCS will check all details and calculations, and once completed they will send you a letter with a cheque.

Hope that helps, this could even mean it will complete before the end of this week, which includes them sending your case back to the FSCS.

Try not to worry and fingers crossed.;)

  • Hi all. I sent another e-mail to fscs last week because after the last comunication with delottie saying they had sent me form e1 to complete back in september which i never recieved and told them that. I e-mailed delottie 3 times after that and nothing. So as i said i e-mailed fscs last friday to explain all this and this morning delottie sent me three photo copies of the boxes we had to sign and date as they said this is all that was missing. We know we signed all the paper work when we sent off the claim in april. Oh well sent them back today so we'll have to see what happens next

    Hiya

Why are they doing this all the time I wonder?? I remember something similar happening to me 2 years ago when i had a case in with them and others too.
Take a photo copy of this one and keep it, just in case, good luck.;)
