questions from me, Mine sat with FOS for 18+ months then I had a letter saying sorry compnay insolvant will pass details on to FSCS to deal with and I got this from I have ignored since late july. FSCS seem nice enough but i have one issue, they say they need written evidence of i dealt with the company such as letter with company details, thing is the salesman thing i dealt with said he was from the lender not a broker, lender initially accepted responsibility then said oops i'm sorry you were dealt with by a broker but only when I asked the FOS to deal with things. FOS wrote to 'broker' and sent me an amended claim form to sign and they replied direct to the FOS not me. They did send me a letter saying they would be communicating with FOS directly and that is it, of course I can't find that letter, I suspect its in the attic or our storage unit. I called FOS today and they said documents they hold have already been passed to the FSCS using ref XXXX which is the referance number FSCS say i have to quote in all correspondance.

Should I A try and scramble about and find the letter or B just write what I know and the FOS reference nuber and say they dealt with company directly as the 'broker' wouldn't deal with me?

If I go for option B will they write to me and say they need more info and everything on hold until then or will they just throw out the claim?

Rang lender today still saying they have not received Deloittes letter but will send us the info we require if we know what it is. We have made decision to ring the lender tomorrow ask them the info you suggested and see if this will do Deloittes. We seem to have been at stalemate for the last 3 weeks!:(

Any idea why they want this information? is it so they can work out interest on the original figure?

Hi,

Well fab news, I think my cheque is on its way shortly OMG!!!!!!!!!!! Came in from work and decided I had to face it and phone, its my birthday so before sitting eating all my cake lol I phoned Delloites and all they said was that it had been handed back to FSCS, said I would phone them and they gave me a number, phoned the number however it appeared to still be Deloittes I was onto??? confused or what but this guy told me all the background stuff had be done and the calculations had been sent to FSCS...so eventually I found paperwork with their number and finally got a hold of them, guy there said it was all concluded and chq might be sent out tomorrow.........OMG now im terrfiied they have said this and the guy was giving me wrong info!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I am SO excited tonight, we are away next Friday for a caravan holiday down south, with the family and my two small grandchildren so if this is correct info then its just FAB.........

This site and your posts (especially you Di) have kept me sane :-)
