  • Hi everyone,
I discovered this forum a few weeks ago when I was approached (by telephone) by a company claiming to reclaim my PPI. After reading several posts I think we could well have a claim against Picture for our mis-sold PPI.
I would rather pursue this claim ourselves than pay a hefty commission to some company who say they can do it for me. But I might need your help!
I have read quite a lot of posts (but not all - this is rather a long thread:p) so could someone tell me where to start?
    Who are the FSCS?

Our loan is a secured loan taken over 20 years but the PPI only covers my husband for the first 5 years - we have been paying it for nearly 3 years. We are due to be paid some NCB in August ( about £2000) as we haven't defaulted on the payments or claimed.

Thank you to anyone who can help me get started:)

    Hi and welcome.

And I totally agree with you to have a go yourself and am sure you will receive all the advice and help you require.

Well if you have been mis sold the PPI, (if your loan was arranged and set up by Picture) then you would normally go directly to them, but as these are in default, for any ppi reclaims etc, then you would have to go through your claim with the Financial Compensation Scheme (FSCS), read more on the company here:
    http://fscs.org.uk/your-claim/

    You would contact them here:
    http://fscs.org.uk/contact-us/
and arrange for these to send you the form.

As the business are already in default then hopefully this should not take too long, as many on here had their claims in with the FSCS before Picture were actually declared in default.

For being sold one of these costly rip off policies are is a complaint alone, but if you have other reasons, then contact the FSCS to make arrangements on a claims form.

    Hope this somewhat helps.;)

I'm sure these lovely lot on here will be happy to help as well, good luck and please keep us posted.:)

Did you go straight threw picture or a broker if like in my case and otheres it was with norton you have to go to them first but if only delt with picture from the start then you need to contact fscs for a claim form good luck sue
  • Thank you both for that!
I did deal with Picture from the start and we were definitely told that we had to take out the insurance or we wouldn't be guaranteed to be accepted for the loan (as it was such a large amount!).
I will check out that link di3004 - and thank you again.
    Will keep you posted:)

    Hi,

It was alot longer than six months but did not find out about this site really till then. I put in the claim to the fscs in november/december 2008 i think it was.

Cheque came today and straight into the bank. they were v happy with me lol.

Heres hoping everyone else that is still waiting is not going to be too much longer now.
