hi
well after fscs said could not go threw with them contacted fos but before you can go on with them had to contact norton and allow them 8 weeks to investigate 7 weeks 5 days later got a 10 page letter saying no misell but they couldnt listen to my phone conversation as somehow phone calls from august 2006 to november 2006 got corrupted i rang norton up and asked to speak with managing director he was very rude and said they are not paying anything back as they have done nothing wrong followed all the guide lines what a joke so contacted fos they sent me a form to fill in and you have to enclose final letter of your broker in our case norton today have received a letter from the fos with another form and they have said they will contact me every 2 months to say how things progressing and at moment it is taking 9 to 12 months (why) but have to sit back and wait as this is the final chance unless if fos say no and we take them to court but that is something we can not finacially do sue0 -
QUICK UP DATE !
Just phoned Norton requesting a copies of my insurance documents/policy, they had to put me thru to the underwriters - Nortons response its not with us its with Picture please contact them !
Phoned Picture just casually asked for copies - Picture took my details and said would pop them in the post !
Not sure what this will actually prove though. Norton did say that Picture only had their own products with their loans and she also said that Norton now only selling monthly premium policies !!!

fantastic well you should have no problem because all picture ppis are getting theres back but why did fscs say no because its with norton they must be getting there wires crossed hope you get sorted sue0
-
i would ring fscs with them saying they can not consider your claim and give them the new information that norton have told you sue0
-
Well thank you for your prompt above suggesting we phone !
To be honest I don't feel very "fantastic" as FSCS seem to have made it clear to me that its Norton, can I challenge the FSCS ??? or should I still go to the FOS and see what they say, maybe even "bat" it back to the FSCS.
So do I ....
Option A ~ Write to FSCS and challenge their decision
or
Option B ~ Go straight to FOS and try and claim on Norton ?
or
Option C ~ Go to the FOS and explain that I feel it is Picture (can the FOS insist that the FSCS look at this again for me)
All this is so stressful I have been messing about with this claim since last June and can not seem to get to the bottom of it !

Oh my goodness how awful and such a long wait, like you say why ?
Sounds as if we are both in a very simular position and like you would be unable to afford to sue Norton. By Norton telling me this morning they now only sell "monthly premium" policies surely this is admitting the original sale of single premium is wrong, I assume yours was a single premium.
Wishing you the best of luck, if there is anything I can do to help please do not hesitate to ask.

from what fscs told me i can not challange there decission because my ppi is deffinately with norton even though i have no documentation from norton only picture but norton when i rang them have told me that my ppi was with them but you said norton told you that yours is with picture so i say ring and ask fscs0
-
yes single policys are now illegal this is why i am chasing them and i was told i would get the loan if i took the ppi but they are deniying that but would you believe it they can not get my phone calls as they are corrupt i am also taking them to the icos as they are in breech by lossing the phone calls0

Sue,
Just rung FSCS...the lady I spoke too could not access my file (they obviously put it to old paper as felt it was "done and dusted" and therefore my file closed)
Anyway she could not comment, but said I was able to challenge the decision, she also said she would recall the file and get back to me tomorrow regarding the result of their investigation and what evidence they have that confirms Norton sold me the PPI !!!
She wasn't really interested in what I had to say about with whom the policy is with, but said to me "you have mentioned Norton several times so it must be them" blimin cheek, they seem to miss the point, the point being who sold the policy grrr
Ah well a few steps forward and another few back !
Thanks for your encouragement and support.

LATEST UP DATE.....
Lady from FSCS phoned this morning to said she'd looked at my file and that Norton are responsible as the "selling agent" as indicated in their response to my original complaint ~ So no luck or change there, so will have to now proceed and escalate my complaint for the miss sell to Ombudsman.
In today's post the promised policy document from Picture, not really a document more a brochure as its not specific to us as policy holders ~ Think I might drop them a line asking them to confirm the date they "sold" us the policy What do you think ? worth a try, surely if they can confirm this, they must have sold it to us, or is Norton still respobsible as they took initial details and passed us onto Picture. (maybe I am clutching at straws)
