    Hi All,

I have seen that many of you have had success with Picture which is great.

Although I am just completing my application form from the FSCS and I am not sure how much detail to go into when it asks why I am requesting the compensation. I have prepared an answer but I am not sure whether it's the right kind of thing! Therefore I was hoping that one of the successfull people maybe able to have a look at it for me via a private message if possible?

I have gained copies of paperwork from Picture and kept some other bits & pieces but must of my dealings with Picture have been via the phone does this matter?

Finally does anyone know what the turn around time is roughly with these claims currently.

Thanks in advance for your help.

    Hi there, hope your well,

Basically these policies are costly and are frowned upon, and so far it seems everyone who have had a claim against them have been successful, there was one to what I remember at the start who then appealed and had their decision overturned, I cannot remember though what they did put in their claim form for that to happen at first.

With mine, with it being a single policy of 5 years, the loan was that of 25, it only protected the first applicant only, this alone is a rip off, and these type of policies are now being phased out.

If you also had a medical condition when you taken the policy out, the chances are you would not be able to make a successful claim either, so treat this just like the usual reclaim procedure.

If you want to pm any of us that is fine, but please feel free if to post on here as well, if you want to that is.

I would not worry though - I'm sure you have genuine reasons to reclaim.
    Good luck.:);)

    hi all,

Today I feel like confused.com big style.

I had been told my file had gone from deloittes back to the fscs for them to complete and the usual we will write to you shortly.

I chased the fscs now and was told the file had been passed back to deloittes.

So annoying different info every time i ring or email.

just not sure what they are playing at or why i keeps going back and forth between them!

    Hi there
How frustrating this is for you.

It maybe because Deloittes need to recalculate up to date perhaps, give them another call at the end of the week for an update, good luck.;)

Don't worry sappy. Exactly the same happened to me. It had to go back to Deloittes for Re-check on the cals. I was concerned at the time, but there was was need to be.

    thank you for the replys.

not sure how long it will take now.

I seem to have become more negative about the whole process as time has gone on.

Hi longword, you are welcome to PM me with the info. I still have the copy of the application form we sent, so maybe could give you a few pointers.
    Our reasons for missell were:

Policy only covered five years and yet paying for it for the duration of the loan -(in our case this was 25 years)!!!!!!!!
Single Premium Policy ie PPI amount added to loan.(these type of policies are now banned)

Didn't cover pre existing medical conditions- if applicable.
Only covered the first named on app form for medical conds.

I think we all had more or less the same reasons for the missell and can see no reason why you or anybody else still waiting will lose.

Not sure on the timescales as we started ours in Aug 08 and paid out in Dec 09, but it was so long as we were waiting for them to go into default and this didn't happen until July/Aug 09. I can;t see you waiting that long although it all depends on what and how fast they get the info needed.

I would put down as many reasons as possible and send off as much info as you can. Remember to take copies as they can be invaluable, should you need them and also be sure to make a copy of the application form esp. the part with your reasons for missell. I wouls also send it Special Delivery - it costs a fiver but is guaranteed next day and you can use the "TRACK AND TRACE" service t ensure they have rcd it.

    Hope this helps
