Does this affect the claims being handled by the FSCS for Picture...???

The Financial Services Compensation Scheme (FSCS) has juggled its compensation limits this week which brings bad news for those with insurance but good news for investors.
There are no changes to the savings compensation limit of £50,000 per person, per financial institution, which is in place if a UK-registered bank or building society goes bust (see the Safe Savings guide).
    Insurance blow
    • The compensation limit for those buying non-compulsory insurance such as home and travel cover (see the Cheap Home Insurance guide) will drop if their insurer goes goes. Instead of being paid 100% of the first £2,000 of a potential claim and 90% of the remainder, you'll just get 90% of the total from the FSCS. On a £2,000 claim, you'll now only get £1,800 back.
    • The limit for compulsory insurance (eg, third party motor and employer's liability) remains at 100% of the total claim (see the Car Insurance guide).

    Hi,
I have been told the same thing this week.
Told my claim was back with fscs before christmas.
Contacted them this week to be told that my claim was still with deloittes.
Contacted deloittes who said they were still waiting for info from f/p.

I do think that the new compo rates may be holding things up and perhaps our claims are now being recalculated. It just seems strange when I was told it would be any day before christmas.

Surely your compensation should be calculated at the time you first put the complaint in and at the higher rate. I would certainly argue this with them if they do reduce it. Its so unfair to alter things immediately. It could be seen as fiddling to suit themselves otherwise.

Sorry to hear your still waiting as well.

If this is the case with the limits, you would think they would let you know what the hold up is, but then again they don't let on I suppose.

    Annoying isn't it?

Hi all I spoke with target themselves earlier this week (well I kept harressing them anyway) I'm not bothered they have messed me around so I can be a pretty good pain in the !!! when I need to be I actually rang them 11 times on Tuesday and eventually they told me that my stuff will be sent back to the fscs by the end of the week so I assume that this will be the next batch. I shall be calling tomorrow just to check hopefully a few more should be in that if it hasn't be dispatched I will just keep ringing.
Regarding the new limits if it is altered I think we should argue that this should surely be from the date of thr origional complaint grrrrr I can see a lot more phone calls tomorrow, on second thoughts it's not 8 o'clock yet may just give them a little call to remind them!!!!!!
Oh I bet they don't record the calls when they say it will be sent out this week either. If you need targets number is as follows let's harress on mass:
0845 045 0163 (speak to Joyce) that's who I did if enough people ring her I think they/she will get the hint and at least we can upset her evening

    Hi Bodkins
    Hope your well
And good luck, hope you hear of a better outcome by tomorrow.

Yes I agree with you in regards of the limits, as you put in the claim on the original limits then realistically that should still stand, as this is the information and details they gave you when you first put in your claim.
    Good luck.;)

    Update Alert !!!!!!!!

Joyce not in spoke to Jessica who has said that they have an awful lot of cases to deal with and they are clearing the back-log and will be dispatching a bulk batch tomorrow.
