I know what you mean, but unfortunately they are getting the cheque, so not a lot I can do. At the end of the day, don't suppose I can moan, will still be almost £13,000 up - believe me- after Husband being out of work for 15 months and struggling that is a great relief.:j
Thats not the point Lynnie, don't take this lying down. It has to
be in the agreement you signed with them for them to charge you this. Ring FSCS today, they may be able to offer some help or give you a telephone number to call. There is one, a Goverment helpline- debt managemnt I will try to find it for you. I initially rang them for advice and they were brilliant.dialysis,mammamia,honey.beaniebabe,saltyfish,funky,Gumbi,Lian,doogle,oldwulf,pinknico,Halpin,alyson,Barloo,jadone,demir,netabc,chickpee,dannyboy,tomgaskel,Lozza001,sandzb,di,marshallka,pengi,lynnie,busbyh,moggy,Kim66,honestbob,tobione,itdonk,arrongborne,thunders,newtonchang,mbones,showergirl, coffeetower,hayston,sappy,dolallytap,AuntieDeedee0 -

They did get very excited about the amount I was getting back. Rubbing their hands at the amount THEY were going to make out of it no doubt
Lynnie I would get right on the phone to solicitors and be firm with them that 30% fee was never mentioned and you will be speaking to FSCS about the cheque.
Ask them did they just pluck this amount from thin air as you have never signed anything to say the charges will be 30%. They are prbably relying on you not fighting your corner, but £7k is a lot of money to gove to them:mad::mad::mad::mad: Ask FSCS to make it payable to you. You can offer to pay the cancellation fee if the stop the cheque and re-issue. Tell them they are tring to rip you off. They can stop cheques. But don't leave it, do it today.

I agree with Pinknico. Is there an organisiation that regulates these claim companies that you could complain to?
Great news about your win Lynnie but you must be very disappointed with the final outcome. I hope things work out in your favour.
DON'T THE FSA HAVE A HELPLINE. I AM SO ANGRY, BLOODY VAT ALSO TO ADD INSULT TO INJURY:mad::mad::mad:dialysis,mammamia,honey.beaniebabe,saltyfish,funky,Gumbi,Lian,doogle,oldwulf,pinknico,Halpin,alyson,Barloo,jadone,demir,netabc,chickpee,dannyboy,tomgaskel,Lozza001,sandzb,di,marshallka,pengi,lynnie,busbyh,moggy,Kim66,honestbob,tobione,itdonk,arrongborne,thunders,newtonchang,mbones,showergirl, coffeetower,hayston,sappy,dolallytap,AuntieDeedee0 -
lynnie, please ring the fscs and explain situation, ask if they can cancel cheque and reissue to you. You can pay the cancellation fee, ring ,them you have nothing at all to lose, but you could gain over £7k, until you sort this out. It will give you some breathing space at least, to get your head straight. Once THEY RECEIVE the cheque they will just deduct the fees, no doubt
I AM ABSOLUTELY INCENSED!!!!!!dialysis,mammamia,honey.beaniebabe,saltyfish,funky,Gumbi,Lian,doogle,oldwulf,pinknico,Halpin,alyson,Barloo,jadone,demir,netabc,chickpee,dannyboy,tomgaskel,Lozza001,sandzb,di,marshallka,pengi,lynnie,busbyh,moggy,Kim66,honestbob,tobione,itdonk,arrongborne,thunders,newtonchang,mbones,showergirl, coffeetower,hayston,sappy,dolallytap,AuntieDeedee0 -

I nearly said but did not want to dampen your spirits again. Its terrible what they have done as they gave you no choice in this did they? Surely they should have informed you that they would be doing this in taking all this money and GIVEN YOU A CHOICE? I would think this is against solicitors policies TBH???
I agree totally marshallka, I just hope Lynnie does something about this. I know she is no doubt very stressed, but if she must dispute this:mad:
As you say I;m sure it must go against SOLICITORS POLICIES. I think there is a number to call re- this type of thing.
