From what i am aware from this thread, yes the policy stays in force and yes, you can claim your NCB too. I think others will confirm this so wait for other responses too.Hi all,
Wonder if anyone can help with this one. Obviously got news of big win yesterday, wind taken out of sails by Chatwins now. The thing i am enquiring about is NCD. My first pay out is due in March. From reading previous threads, would I be right in thinking that policy is still in force, and I wll still be paid out on this unless I choose to cancel!0 -
It stated that they would take it if calim under £5000, if over they would reclaim costs from the company. However they are now saying that because Picture are in default they have to claim it from us. Wish I had known they were going into default - would have waited and did claim myself - instead I have lost nearly £7000 to folk who, quite honestly, have done very little in a year and a half!!!!! sorry to moan, when I got so much back, but to lose nearly third of it again is a little annoying. They took VAT on top of the 30% by the way:mad::mad:marshallka wrote: »Hi Lynnie123, sorry to hear of your news from Chatwins:mad:. Did it actually say in any paperwork that YOU signed that they would be allowed to take 30%???0 -
Yes as long as you have not missed/ been late with payments you should still get your NCB, not happy about the 30% you have to pay, Chatwins have done NOTHING with your claim, they havent taken it to court, they havent filled out the forms. I expect they wrote one letter to Picture and one letter to FSCS and you did the rest by filling in the form.
It should not be allowed for Claim Companies to take claims to the FSCS when all it involves is a form to be filled in by the CLAIMANT and that is it.
ReallY angry on your behalf and I want to see the small print on your contract that says you have to pay the money if firm in default, if there is none complain to EVERYONE about this firm.DS1 12/10/04

They did get very excited about the amount I was getting back. Rubbing their hands at the amount THEY were going to make out of it no doubt0

I would put in a complaint, thats too much money to lose just because they are charging 30% doesnt mean they CAN! The only reason Picture would have paid any money is for court fees, there is none so you shouldnt have to pay up 30%DS1 12/10/04

I know what you mean, but unfortunately they are getting the cheque, so not a lot I can do. At the end of the day, don't suppose I can moan, will still be almost £13,000 up - believe me- after Husband being out of work for 15 months and struggling that is a great relief.:jI would put in a complaint, thats too much money to lose just because they are charging 30% doesnt mean they CAN! I agree with Pinknico. Is there an organisiation that regulates these claim companies that you could complain to?
Great news about your win Lynnie but you must be very disappointed with the final outcome. I hope things work out in your favour.0 -
