You would have thought so. Can't believe i got the letter but cheque has not arrived. I live in Scotland too, normally takes longer to get here.

It stated that they would take it if calim under £5000, if over they would reclaim costs from the company. However they are now saying that because Picture are in default they have to claim it from us. Wish I had known they were going into default - would have waited and did claim myself - instead I have lost nearly £7000 to folk who, quite honestly, have done very little in a year and a half!!!!! sorry to moan, when I got so much back, but to lose nearly third of it again is a little annoying. They took VAT on top of the 30% by the way:mad::mad:
So was it with Chatwins for over a year and half then? I thought they did it really quick for you? I thought there would also be VAT on top of it too. I nearly said but did not want to dampen your spirits again. Its terrible what they have done as they gave you no choice in this did they? Surely they should have informed you that they would be doing this in taking all this money and GIVEN YOU A CHOICE? I would think this is against solicitors policies TBH???

YAY YAY YAY - Happy day today!!!

No I haven't received my cheque but I just rang the FSCS and it's on the way. I can't tell you how relieved I am to know we have a valid claim as I've thought the worst for a while now.

Thanks to all of you for your support which has helped me through this stressful time - You have helped more than you will ever know.

    You are all stars xxx

    Hi all,

Wonder if anyone can help with this one. Obviously got news of big win yesterday, wind taken out of sails by Chatwins now. The thing i am enquiring about is NCD. My first pay out is due in March. From reading previous threads, would I be right in thinking that policy is still in force, and I wll still be paid out on this unless I choose to cancel!

Yes that's right lynnie, the policy does stay in force. the ncb will probably be worth more to you.

As for the 30% Be very careful. Did you sign and agree to this, if not they cannot deduct this amount. Also your solicitor would know they could not claim from Picture as they went into liquidation before they went in default. Look through your paperwork very carefully and check what you have signed.

If the cheque has not been sent out ask FSCS to send it to you, before the solicitor receives it and deducts this RIP OFF 30%. You need a breakdown of the charges from them. They didn't have to go to court or anything on your behalf so what's the 30% For.

This was my concern last night when you mentioned the solicitor
