Hi all Gumbi here back from my spending spree tio find that Picture Have been at it again.....Sit back and enjoy this one, it's taken a good hour to write but I think you'll agree it's worth it and I've just stuck a stamp on the letter and sent it with a smile on my face:

[Picture Finance Complaint

To whom it may concern,

I find myself almost unable to believe that I’m in the position of having to write this letter of complaint as the circumstances seems almost too ridiculous to be anything other than a bad joke!

Long story short – Took out Loan with Picture and was foolish enough to be duped into agreeing to the Picture Protector PPI Policy. Discovered my mistake and spent the next 2 years writing a veritable encyclopaedia of letters to Picture, The FOS and most recently the FSCS in a fight to get the money wasted on this pointless policy refunded.

After a period stress and financial hardship that I wouldn’t wish on even my worst enemy, we eventually won our case and have recently been awarded the full premium plus a significant amount of interest, (deep Joy). Being an honest soul I dutifully paid Picture an amount of £1900 to clear the arrears that I had been told we had on our account and settled down to a few weeks of retail therapy the likes of which will remain legendary in our household for many years to come.

Imagine my surprise when I received a recorded message from Picture asking me to hold whilst I was put through to a representative....When the system dropped me out due to the fact that nobody was available to take my call, (very, very annoying by the way!) I took it upon myself to call back, obviously concerned that my payment may have gone astray.

This fear was compounded when the customer services bod confirmed that my account was showing as being in arrears.......”But I just paid you £1900!” says I....”Oh yes I can see that payment, however the account is still in arrears” says he...”how much by?" says I, by now very confused and wondering where my hard fought money could have got to... “£17.50, would you care to clear that now?” says he.........................................................................................................................................................................[long pause to compose myself].............................”Are you taking the !!!!?” says I.

Needless to say I was singularly unimpressed that after a fight of 2 years in which Picture had attempted to dodge, weave and slither their way out of paying back their ill gotten gains they appear to think it totally acceptable to harass someone for a balance of £17.50 after a recent payment of £1900!

I managed to control the urge to drive to Wales, rip up what’s left of the Picture technical infrastructure, set light to it and dance a wild jig around the flames, and agreed to increase my monthly standing order to cover the vitally important amount of £17.50....Thus the situation was resolved, or so I thought but no... Picture managed to outdo even their own unrivalled record of shonkyness and plumb new depths of rubbish customer service beating even the, until now, undisputed champions of crap customer service...British Gas!

A further 4 automated calls to both my home number and mobile number resulted in me ignoring the first three with a barely concealed snort of disgust, however the last one caught me at a bad moment and my usual calm telephone demeanour was lost in a red mist of expletives directed at one of your unfortunate call centre bods, (to whom I’d like to apologise as they were merely unlucky enough to pick up that particular call and no offensive was intended to them personally, only to Picture).

As somebody that works in marketing I understand the value of a strong and trusted brand and can only offer up thanks to the advertising Gods that the Picture brand died before seeing what level of customer service it was doomed to endure.

I do however have to thank Picture...It’s not every day that one gets to vent one’s spleen at a company that has caused a great deal of hardship to me and mine over the past few years, and feel totally justified whilst doing it so please...... continue to call, harass, balls up and generally give me progressively larger sticks with which to beat you....It’s very therapeutic and certainly a lot cheaper than therapy! ]

Ooooooooooh that felt so good, almost as good as getting the cheque....actaully no it didn't getting the cheque was rapture:cool:

OH MY GOD, GUMBI, I'm out of breath!!!!!!!!!!!!!! 'm so glad I wasn't the call centre worker. You terrified me:D:D:D

Absolutely fantastic, now why is it so easy to believe that is all PICTURE are capable of. They just never seem to get the message, they are total irresponsible idiots.

If ever I need to write a letter of complaint I know who to ask for help. If fact I think I will copy and save this for future reference. Never know when it may come in handy.

Well done to you and keep us posted with the outcome:beer::beer:

Received this letter today from BS.Together with copy of letter dent to them be Deloitte.
Here is the info they are requesting, although I think they have actually received this now, as the info was faxed to us and we faxed it on to deloitte

We are investigating a claim I relation to an alleged miselling of PPI Sold by the above firm. We have been informed that the original loan supported by the policy we are investigating has now been refinanced through a loan with Nationwide.

The info they are requesting is as follows:

· Total interest paid to date on the premium element of £8732.50
· The amount of any redemption fee payable if the premium element of £8732.50 is repaid to the loan
· The rates of interest applied to the loan from inception, including the dates they were applied
· A statement of account showing monthly payments made so far in relation to this agreement.
In relation to the PPI (if calculated by you) any premium rebates due upon cancellation/already paid under “cash back” schemes (if applicable)

This is the info needed to complete out claim.
Just popping out be back on later:beer:

• A letter of this nature is applauded? I would advise against sending this letter is I were you, a veiled threat within (setting fire to the building) if I were you I would hope and pray that nothing happens to that building!

A torrent of abuse and expletives to a person just trying to earn a living and having the grace to answer your call. That really shows the personality and intelligence of someone that is deserving of a career in letter writing.

I appreciate that you have had a negative experience with a company, however swearing at people on the phone places you in the same arena of those who initially 'duped' you into the insurance and loan.

Your comment on being an honest person and paying back your arrears is also confusing, surely if you are behind its not honesty that should drive the will to pay back, it’s your moral and legal obligation to adhere to the contract issued between yourself and Picture, in this instance a financial agreement governed by a legal charge over your abode.

Many may applaud your letter on here and i imagine being a newbie and will deem any opinion of mine obsolete. However I feel you letter is inappropriate, and indicative of a person who is unable to argue in a rational and structured manner and resorts to abuse and threats.

Maybe if you adjusted your approach to people and the system this may not have taken your 2 years to address. If I was a case handler and that letter landed on my desk, i know what i would do with it.

We appreciate your comments and opinions, and I'm sure you understand that many feel bitter and let down by the system.

However there are some comments not to be taken literally, it seems you are offended going by your post, and as you stated in a previous post you work on the other side of the fence, but I honestly don't think the poster meant it in this way.

As you will see, this have been a battle for all, they feel badly let down, and want their claims sorted out once and for all.

If your offended in any way - I'm sure this was not meant to offend anyone at all. People like to get their feelings off their chest.
Everyone has their own opinions, like yourself of course, so any useful help and advice we are so grateful for, cheers.

Di, i thanks for those words and i do understand the way people have been let down by the system, and they must be angry. However swearing at people employed to deliver a message imo should not be posted on a forum in a bravado manner. These people are purely working to make ends meet.

I have stated that i work on the other side of the fence Di, however it is not in the financial arena and as such i owe nothing to the system that systamatically failed us all.

However, from my profession, i can only state that the letter stated a threat, albeit, veiled to an entity, namely the picture premises, would not be advisable. Reading your posts, you seem very intelligent and i am sure you can deduce what field i am from, and why i am unable to disclose my profession.

Hi di, I am still a little confused here as BS faxed this info over to us and we in turn faxed it to deloittes. This was several weeks ago. Now I am unsure as to whether this has just crossed in the post, as it has been sent from another dept at deloitte.
Our contact at deloitte did tell us the information we faxed was what they needed.

I have just emailed our contact at deloitte, in the hope they are working O/T tomorrow, to ask for clarification. The B/S have asked us to call in to verify signatures in order for them to supply this info to Deloitte:confused:

It does appear to me, there are several depts working on the cases, and they are not communicating very well at all,

Hi hun
Yes its best to make sure on this.
I am hoping they will be working O/T tomorrow as well, first of all hoping that C&G does send the details through the post, as we cannot do nothing until they receive these as you know.

Deloitte - our case handler actually confirmed on the phone today that even though they required those details, but they do have these through the Nemo details, that it was the actual general details of our mortgage, as a statement sort of thing, or payments we make and so on, but I just wish they told us this from the start....., gets more confusing each time doesn't it.
Know in C&G they will just send a simple date of the remortgage, the amounts and that is it - I don't trust they will send all the info that is required again.
