I did think it was unfair that my NCB was deducted, but as said in a previous post I called the FSCS and told them when I received my NCB cheque and they asked me to send a copy. If I hadn't been honest then I would of been a few grand better off I suppose. It's not fair if I receive next years and the following years NCB, yet had this years deducted especially if others have claimed both amounts.
I have already banked the cheque as my husband left me 2 months ago with my 23 month old son and I am 8 1/2 months pregnant so really need the money, only problem is my ex husband is after his share now.
Strawberrylane my cheque was dated 30 October 2009, letter/final calculation was dated 22nd October.
Mothercare/ebay here I come to buy my due in 2 weeks little boy a few things that his father won't.0

Di - Thanks for your comments and support.
Demir - thanks for your reply. My cheque should be dated the day before yours so I'm really really hoping it arrives tomorrow. Where in the country do you live?0

 Your welcome Strawberrylane.;)
I think it will be with your tomorrow, but if not I would defo get back on the phone to the FSCS and tell them your getting worried about this now, as you understand that some claimants have received theirs that were posted even later than yours, but hopefully it will not come to that and that it will arrive first thing.:beer:The one and only "Dizzy Di" 0 0

Congratulations Demir !!!!!! You must be wellpleased.
On another note, do you not think it slightly unfair that that you have had your NCB deducted from you compensation when if your NCB anniversary was a few months later then it would NOT have been deducted.
I personally (and a few others on here) think this is in incorrect and therefore have had to write to FSCS explaining so. The only drawback though is cant bank the cheque they have sent yet until an answer.
So depends on your circumstances, if you need the funds like yesterday, bank your cheque. If however you can wait a few weeks and query this to them. I (with a little help from fellow picturites) have drawn up a lovely little template letter that we would only be to willing to PM so you can amend and send to FSCS.
 Hi barloo
I feel the NCB is something that needs to be addressed, even if nothing comes of it, I feel it has to be put to FSCS to answer.
Did you write to the FSCS about this.dialysis,mammamia,honey.beaniebabe,saltyfish,funky,Gumbi,Lian,doogle,oldwulf,pinknico,Halpin,alyson,Barloo,jadone,demir,netabc,chickpee,dannyboy,tomgaskel,Lozza001,sandzb,di,marshallka,pengi,lynnie,busbyh,moggy,Kim66,honestbob,tobione,itdonk,arrongborne,thunders,newtonchang,mbones,showergirl, coffeetower,hayston,sappy,dolallytap,AuntieDeedee0

Hi demir, happy for you that you have received your cheque. Even though you have cashed it, and I can fully understand why you have, I would still drop the FSCS a line. As you say you will still be entitled the the 4/5th year NCB so why be penalised on the first by having it deducted.
Drop them a line, why don't you - nothing ventured, nothing gained;) as barloo says, the letter is there waiting. Good luck to you and hope everything works out

Copy of the letter for FSCS. You can amend it to suit your own case.
 Financial Services Compensation Scheme
 Dear Sirs
 Re- Claim ref: PICF********
I am in receipt of a cheque for compensation against Picture Financial Services PLC.
I would be most grateful if you would explain the area of concern, which is the No Claims Bonus you have deducted from my payment.
The breakdown of my payment from you is as follows:
 Put your breakdown in here
I received the No Claims Bonus of £**** in ********09, and received compensation from you after this was paid to me. Can you please explain to me why the NCB has been deducted from the payment?
Had my NCB not been due until November, for example, after my compensation was paid from you, I would still have received this from the Insurers, and obviously it would not have been deducted from my claim.
I feel I have been penalised by you because of the date my NCB was due.
I have not cancelled the Insurance as yet, as it appears I would have little to gain from Picture/Target if I did. Therefore if all other parts of the policy apply – i.e. Claims for redundancy etc, why would you take off my NCB. It makes sense it all applies.
The reason I was entitled to the NCB is because my account had never been in arrears, and yet you have taken it off me!!
Also, as I would still be entiltled to my 4/5th NCB if my account does not go into arrears, why then would I not be entitled to the 3rd year that you have deducted from me.
You can add your own amounts of your loan etc and that you have not been put back in the position you would have been without the PPI etc
Or take it out, whatever suits your own casedialysis,mammamia,honey.beaniebabe,saltyfish,funky,Gumbi,Lian,doogle,oldwulf,pinknico,Halpin,alyson,Barloo,jadone,demir,netabc,chickpee,dannyboy,tomgaskel,Lozza001,sandzb,di,marshallka,pengi,lynnie,busbyh,moggy,Kim66,honestbob,tobione,itdonk,arrongborne,thunders,newtonchang,mbones,showergirl, coffeetower,hayston,sappy,dolallytap,AuntieDeedee0
