From all the responses here there is only me and a few others who would succeed in getting the cash back, the rest would be a lot of £££'s down ... call me what you likeOwed out = lots. :cool:0

Your suggestion is fraud / obtaining money by deception.
Getting your money back is not fraud, it is simply getting your money back- lol i do not know what else to post here i am getting shot with accusations, so i will leave it to the OP to decide for himself what to do.

Getting your money back by fair means is not illegal, however intentionally damaging the item or interfere with it to pretend it is broken so you can obtain a refund that you would otherwise not be entitled to is fraud / obtaining money by deception. In fact just telling them it is faulty without interferring with it when you know it is not faulty would also be fraud / obtaining money by deception.
If the item is genuinely faulty then obviously you are entitled to a refund.
MSE is about saving money by legitimate means not by breaking the law0 -
ssingh1979 I'm glad your kids like the PS3. Just a tip for the future. If you type something like "price checker consoles" or "PS3 game price checker" into Google you will get comparison sites which will tell you where the best prices are for the consoles/games you want to buy for your kids.
Amazon is a great place to get cheap games too. Plus the reviews will tell you whether the games are actually any good.

A few days later they reduce the current model to £245.00 and will be selling a newer model 1st of Sept for £250! The branch manager did not bother to call me back and one of the juniors told me "it's unfortunate for me" Also spoke to head office customer services who told me "it was my choice to buy at £325.00" and basically tuff luck that a higher spec, better looking, more powerful and cheaper new version is out in a few days! Sony have washed their hands too - telling me it's up to Argos to help me! They have been no help what so ever, Any advice? Thanks
if it had gone up to £500 would you have brought in the difference?0 -
Does everyone on here log out of the site everytime they leave it?
I don't.
But a newcomer (this was their first post) may not have ticked the box "keep me logged in" or whatever it is.
Or using home versus work versus netcafe computers.
Could be many reasons.

This is what happened to me with the Wii.
Spent £250 (including games) for the pack. 2 days later £170 (I think) including the pack.
Went to the local store, manager was a rude old women.
I emailed and said I would return everything and they wanted my address to send the cheque and guess what happens? My computer crashed and needs to be reinstalled. I can no longer get my emails from outlook. I emailed back and they didn't know anything about it. Just my luck! lol0 -

Do some research before you shell out next time. It's no secret that the newer, cheaper model is being released0
