Argos Playstation 3 Rip Off £££

Hi Im new here and not sure what help or advice i can get, I bought my son a ps3 from Argos on Sunday for £325.00 + about £60.00 of extra games. A few days later they reduce the current model to £245.00 and will be selling a newer model 1st of Sept for £250! The branch manager did not bother to call me back and one of the juniors told me "it's unfortunate for me" Also spoke to head office customer services who told me "it was my choice to buy at £325.00" and basically tuff luck that a higher spec, better looking, more powerful and cheaper new version is out in a few days! Sony have washed their hands too - telling me it's up to Argos to help me! They have been no help what so ever, Any advice? Thanks

Yes, i would take it back to argos and say it does not work, you will get your cash back they don't check it, pull the wire out of the plug inside and they will know no different if it comes back on you then it was a factory fault that the wires in the plugs were not working, then buy the cheaper model elsewhere.

Check online stores and console price drops before you buy them, the sites usually know months in advance of any price drops on all consoles.

Good luck with taking it back - you were just unlucky to have bought at that time. hopefully you still have the box and everything and will be able to follow the advice above.

As much as thus is annoying Argos have done nothing wrong as others have said. You agreed to the price. The only recourse is, if it didnt comply with SOGA not fit for purpose or as described etc

If you bought it online from Argos and you didnt use it you can send it back under distance selling act within 7 days but it must not be sued and have all the packaging

Yeah its bad luck but Argos have to draw a line somewhere and if they refunded you they would have to refund everyone, when do you draw the line, someone who bought it a month ago is probably just as annoyed so should they get the money back?, prices change all the time and if it went the other way in that you bought the playstation then the price went up you wouldn't expect Argos to come round and get the difference! You paid a price which you thought was fair at the time and now its gone down you feel hard done by!

A better shout may be complaining to Sony as they may send you a free game or something similar. They've done that before when similar things have happened.

You know I've been thinking about this - no one is going to have a PS3 in their house for 5 days and not use it!!! Well I couldn't anyway. I was on mine (not from Argos) within 10 minutes of getting it in the house!!!

We'll just have to hope that he can get it back into looking like new with all the little plastic bags etc intact!

Do argos still do that 16 day money back guarentee as long as you have the receipt? i would take it back to a different branch and say something faulty with it.
