how did i know the title would be wrong..............

As Meatloaf would say "you took the words right out of my mouth" ;)
We could all learn a little something from the weather. It pays no attention to criticism.
  • It's just a case of bad luck.
I don't agree with the post that suggests pulling a wire from the plug and taking it back claiming it's faulty, that is wrong. and it could come back to bite you on the behind.
Nobody really knows when a shop is going to change their prices, if you want something buy it and enjoy it.
If something went up in price you would not go back to the shop offering to pay the extra.
I don't think there is anything you can do, I'm afraid it's just an unfortunate thing to happen.

My advise.... shop around before you buy!!!

People are too quick to go and spend an obscene amount of money on these consoles without doing much researching first. The PS3 has been out a while now, it was only a matter of time they brought out a cheaper/higher spec version.

As for Argos - that's the last place I'd go to buy a console (or anything else that's high value!)

Tough luck, this happens all the time. Argos have done nothing wrong. In fact the model they sold you at that price was sold to them at Sony for the higher price, so why should you get a refund.

What would you say if the price had increased by £50 and they called you asking for more money? No difference I'm afraid.

Hi Im new here and not sure what help or advice i can get, I bought my son a ps3 from Argos on Sunday for £325.00 + about £60.00 of extra games. A few days later they reduce the current model to £245.00 and will be selling a newer model 1st of Sept for £250! The branch manager did not bother to call me back and one of the juniors told me "it's unfortunate for me" Also spoke to head office customer services who told me "it was my choice to buy at £325.00" and basically tuff luck that a higher spec, better looking, more powerful and cheaper new version is out in a few days! Sony have washed their hands too - telling me it's up to Argos to help me! They have been no help what so ever, Any advice? Thanks

and how exactly is this a rip off?

    Buyer remorse - yes.
    Rip off - No.
Buyer not doing homework - definitely

It ISN'T a rip off though!

But following the forums advice to damage the console and take it back is.

Would it be considered obtaining money by deception?

Maybe you could say the same for Argos since they know damn well the console price crash was imminent and still charged him full price. I don't care how its put it is still a rip off.
    Owed out = lots.
