Late as usual.... here's my efforts...
Sunday - carvery at pub, toasted sandwiches for tea
Monday - beef stir fry for OH, quorn sausage and mash for me
Tuesday - 5 bean veggie chilli for both of us (maybe with pitta bread for OH to fill him up)
Wednesday - chicken balti for OH, something on toast for me (going out at lunchtime with boss)
Thursday - tuna pasta bake and garlic bread for both of us
Friday - out for a curry with friends
Saturday is shopping day so it'll start all over again then!0 -
MY OH doesn't like shopping more than a couple of days in advance (he is terrible at making decisions). He has just started working opposite the supermarket and I don't so he is now going to have to do the shopping all the time. I finish work earlier so when I have food it will be ready for when he comes, if not he has to wait. I am sure the novelty of shopping on his own will wear off, especially when he has to wait for his dinner so I may be able to get that changed.
Now after my rambling, this is our week so far
Monday - Roast chicken, roast potatoes, roat parsnips and green beans
Tuesday - Belly Pork, baked potatoed, mangetout and remainder of green beans
Wednesday - something easy of take away as OH is working late
Thursday -
Friday - homemade rhubarb crumble (debut attempt with no help from my mum)
Saturday -
Sunday -
We haven't been shopping for food past Tuesday so I will add in as I go.MFW 2025 No. 7 £1530/£2700

Unfortunately we now have food until Wednesday. OH's Dad was going into hospital today for an operation to check up on some problems he had earlier in the year. However he got quite confused this morning and everyone is quite distressed. OH and his sister are going up to the hospital for visiting hours and he is bringing a takeaway back in with him. At least we don't need to go shopping until Thursday now.MFW 2025 No. 7 £1530/£2700

It goes kind of like a gooey sticky suet pud. I mix 4 tbsp veg oil and 100ml milk into 200g self raising flour and 175g sugar. I spoon some marmalade (or jam, or you could use syrup I guess) into a greased dish. Pour in the batter. Cover and microwave for 3 minutes (I have a 850 MW oven.) Hope you like it
Sorry to hear about your fil, ajmoney. I hope he is better soon.Love and compassion to all x0 -

he could just shop for the next day instead of that days meal? means you have a more relaxing time preparing it (as a loving wife lol:p:rotfl:)all ready for your dh when he comes home! cooking the next days meal the day before gives it a better flavour.0 -

I've long since given up posting my meal plan in the kitchen because then if I change my mind about something I have to explain why we're not having x and why we're having y instead:rolleyes:
pmsl!!!i get that off my oldest if i change the menu!! i do it often, just jiggle the meals about but i dont mark it down so hes such a stickler for being "follow the instructions exactly" that the "thats not whats on the menu for today"!! comments were ! told him it was a mums privilege to change the menu!!;):rotfl:the comments stopped!0 -

I actually use a microwave-proof deep cereal bowl topped with a plate! As long as the dish you are using is deep enough so that the pud doesn't peep above it, then I would imagine microwave-able cling film or casserole lid should be fineLove and compassion to all x0 -
Better late than never
Monday: I went out for a meal to celebrate friends B'day
Tuesday: Toad in the hole with horse radish mash and peas
Wednesday: Macaroni cheese and HM (Econ Gastron recipe) got to top with cheese and crumbs tho as OH doesn't like pieces of tomato with HM tomato and onion bread (making 2 macaroni and cheese so can freeze 1)
Thursday: HM roasted garlic and onion lasagne with Garlic bread and salad (making 2 so can freeze 1)
Friday: Kiev and chips (quick tea as off to visit rels)
Saturday: HM chilli and nachos with cheese and sour cream
Sunday: HM Pizza with potato wedges and salad
Monday: Ham, cheese, mushroom, onion omlette
Tuesday: HM Spaghetti bolognaise
Wednesday: peppered steak pie with HM chips
However there is a possibility we will be going away in the camper with friends to Pembroke on Friday night until Monday so some of those may be swapped about and it will be camping and BBQ food for us instead!
