    Hiya,
Yeah I do my 4-weeks worth of planning then just order it meal by meal when it comes to do the shopping, it makes it easier for me to keep track of what I've ordered!......

Think I may just go ahead and give it a try, if it doesn't work can always to back to weekly plans or maybe even fortnight. Thanks!

Thursday- Chorizo, potato, pepper hash with fried eggs on top

That sounds so good - but I don't like fried eggs, could they be substituted with something else?

I'm loving this thread...I've got so many ideas now I don't know what to choose for next month!! :T

I've just managed to persuade my sis to give it a try. She's one of those people who goes to Tesco and buys whatever she sees...Got her to do a meal plan for her and her daughter from ASDA (the cheating way so ease her into it gently!) and she was amazed at how much she saved! She told me the total was about a 1/4 of what she normally spends :T

Next week one of my friends is coming to stay with her 3 kids - so special meal planning required for those days, including puddings! Here goes.

Today - chick pea/chorizo stew with couscous, stir-fried courgettes
Sunday - pasta with courgette sauce (or tomato sauce depending on whar's in the garden)
Monday - collecting a quantity of organic beef, so we'll have entrecote, green beans and baked polenta squares
Tuesday - friends arriving: devilled chicken drumsticks, HM wedges, salad; semolina pudding with raspberry coulis
Wednesday - Amercan-style cottage pie, mixed veg salad; creme brulee
Thursday - barbecue, couscous salad,; raspberry chill
    Friday - out for dinner
Saturday - friends leave, I guess we'll eat leftovers! If there aren't any, it will be tortellini in brodo (just frozen a good quantity of chicken stock).

Tomorrow I will make a batch of HM barbecue sauce, caramelised onions, Georgian beetroot puree and hummus for extras/lunches. And we've just extracted a lot of honey, which will go nicely with fresh baguette.....

Glad I have got all that sorted out, thanks to this thread :-) Have a nice week!

Of course! My daughter is allergic to eggs so she won't be having one, and my sons may well choose not to -it's a case of 'who wants an egg on their hash?'

I've just done a virtual shop online and decided that I need to spend less this week so I've made a few changes as detailed in blue below;)

Monday- Me and OH are having lamb's liver and onions plus mash. Kids are having hm pizza they don't do liver:rolleyes: Might do the kids bacon, beans and mash if feeling lazy.
Will put some mung beans in a jar to sprout in time for Friday's stir-fried veg

Tuesday- Spaghetti with hm pesto -pesto made with almonds or walnuts instead of pinenuts. This requires Parmesan cheese which I've run out of so I'm going to make chorizo pilaff instead -chorizo, rice and veg. I already have the chorizo sausage which will do two meals.

Wednesday- Homity pies these are cheese and onion pies, made popular by the Cranks veggie restaurant back in the 70s

Thursday- Chorizo, potato, pepper hash with fried eggs on top

Friday- Sweet Chilli Salmon, rice and stir-fried veg Will see what fish is cheaper -mackerel probably 'cos I want to serve oily fish for health;) might not serve it with sweet chilli and stir fry.

Saturday- Hm Burgers with blue cheese and bacon, hm oven 'fries', salad, raspberry cheesecake Buying blue cheese in order to serve mince is exravagant I think, so I'll do a Keema curry instead.

Sunday - Morrocan style lamb stew, couscous, raspberry cheesecake for the cheesecake I will need to buy digestives and cream cheese, neither particularly pricy, but unecessary, so I'll make a pud using what I have, I have lots of breadcrumbs so it'll be Treacle Tart and cream (cream is allowed at the weekend;))
