I am so sorry for your losing Ziggy and not only in a traffic accident but you had to deal with it. How horrible for you.

Please may I appeal to all cat owners again. Keep them in from dusk till dawn.
Firstly for the cat, less chance of a road traffic accident.

For us drivers, I swerve or brake hard at anything that appears suddenly, it's instinct. But the swerve might be into a tree!!

Hunting whether town cat or country cat can take place within daylight hours.Gives the birds a chance rather than when they are asleep. Why do cat owners think it's clever for their cat to catch a bird.?

Country cats killing mice, probably woodmice an endangered species, but to kill Voles, a fast disappearing creature is such a NO. No that is so bad.

As a country girl don't you know these things?

The last reason I have for keeping your cat home from dusk till dawn is to shut up people like me who moan non stop about the bird/mice killers otherwise known as Cats.

I won't leave my dog's poo on the pavement, you keep your cat in at night.
It's simple. No hardship and you at least know that in the morning, your cat won't have to be shovelled up as poor Ziggy was by his mum. So easily prevented.

Mutter, I know how you feel about these things, but I really don't think this was the appropriate time or thread for you to remind us of your views.

Sorry Hun, but that is my view.
My first reply was witty and intellectual but I lost it so you got this one instead :D

    I don't know.......

It can be a stark warning to other cat owners.

I let mine out, but only during day light, still a risk, but not so much so.

I lost a cat a few years ago.
He was 15 years old and really was one of the family.

I had him from when i was a teenager and still think we see him sometimes.

With a response like that i am believing you are sub normal!

Everything you have put is totally ridiculous.
  • I'm really sorry for your loss, I do hope your OH doubled back and helped bury him and gave you a hug and a shoulder to cry on.

    Big Hugs xxx
  • So sorry to hear of your loss.
At least he had a happy life and was loved.

I'm so sorry to hear about Ziggy. At least you can take some comfort in the fact that he has a good life and was loved during the short time that you had him.

    xx

Edit : Just to add to what others posters have mentioned - a cat is a cat its a natural hunnter, its instinct, you can't teach it what it can and can't hunt !!!!
