Worst job you have ever had??

I worked in a chicken factory Packing raw chicken into those polestyrene trays. I lasted 2 weeks!0

I worked for 3 months in the laundry of a geriatric hospital where many of the patients were doubly incontinent. Every morning huge laundry bags of soaking sheets were emptied onto the floor to be sorted before washing. Anything with number 2s on was supposed to be in separate hazard bags but more often than not the ward staff were too lazy to separate them. You can guess what I went home smelling of every day!0

If i were you i would be looking for a new job also. Its not good spending so much time in an environment like that.
The manager seems to have allocated me hours so I work more with the lady who has been criticising me because of what she said about me. Its really annoying.
My co-worker also gets picked on, I am not sure why, but we ar eboth the newest members and the youngest. I really dread going in and pretending that I don't know what these people have been saying about me.0 -
Many years ago I was a Parking Warden.
I liked the job being out and about BUT hardly anybody was your friend!! I was threatened, driven at, sworn at and just treated badly. Ticket numbers were always a talking point between staff and management.
If anybody did act friendly / offer a free soft drink it was always a ruse for a favour.
I lasted 3 months and left.0 -
I was 15 at the time and began work for a farmer who was a bit of a b****** and I think this was some sort of initiation. He got me to bury 5 dead sheep, that had been dead for a few days and were crawling with maggots. It was horrible, I'd gag every few minutes. I can smell it to this day and ocassionally when I get a whiff I think somethings died around here! Horrible!0

In my teens I worked as a saturday girl in Greggs. I had to be there at 7.30am for the deliveries and no bus went anywhere near it at that time in the morning so I had to walk. It was a good 3 miles away from my house. Twelve hour working day for peanuts.
Although a fully functioning young lady, I wasn't seen as 'able' to work on the counters until I had served my time mopping and sweeping the floor incessantly. I have to say I also worked with the biggest bunch of b!!tchiest women I've ever met.
I eventually was 'promoted' to working on the cake and pasty counter BUT if we wanted a cake we had to buy it with a small discount! I thought 'sod that' and perfected the art of cramming a whole cake in my mouth whilst the dragon manageress wasn't looking and then slowly but surely eating it and getting rid of the evidence. Unfortunately I nearly got caught on more than one occasion when hamster cheeks here would be asked a question by the manageress. I would wave airily or mumble 'loo' and head to the toilet to dispose of the contraband.:D
Lasted about 3 months when I moved up the dizzying heights in my career path to work at Burgerland. Managed to perfect the same trick with a burger, could never quite cram a quarter pounder in though.:rotfl:DFW Nerd 267. DEBT FREE 11.06.08

Some of these jobs are unbelievable!!! Can't say i fancy many...especially Parking Warden 'I luv cats', you are braver than i!!! I would fear for my life!
Haha Triker...i think that a bit of practice and you could of made 'mince meat' of that quarter ponder...hahaha, excuse my VERY bad joke there, i couldn't resist!! I cant believe you were not even allowed one measly free cake every now and then at Gregs!! They are like...50p?!
Oh and 'Coffee_Prince', Sounds like they may just be jealous of your youth (co-worker too) and are looking down on you to make you feel bad. Some people like to take their crappy lives out on others to make them feel better. As i said, don't let them see it gets to you as that is EXACTLY what they want.
Oh and 'Just_so'...that is rank. I feel sick reading it! :rotfl:"You dont need a weather man to know which way the wind blows"0 -
I ran away to the Circus... (and I was 35 at the time )
Overpacked my luggage (paid £45 excess baggage so very heavy*). Arrived in Alicante in the middle of the night and went to base. A car park in the town centre.
My quarters were the front section of an eight-horse lorry (and no it was not an Oakley Supreme...) with just a bed and a shelf. (Circus act owner and boyfriend in super-luxurious tourer caravan next door.)
Up at 8:00am the next day - 31 degrees all day. Training, mucking out, feeding, sweeping, bathing, grooming. Two hours off in the pm - nowhere to go/quarters filled with flies. More grooming, preparation for the act and then two shows 7pm and 9pm (after getting all the hoses to poop outside so they wouldn't during the show ).
The horses were the only animals in the circus so all the other acts started to party after work. There was no chance of sleep until 2-3am.
Besides, even/especially as a life-long horse lover, I could not stand to see such wonderful creatures lifestyles.
I packed up and left - dragging the bleeping heavy suitcase* into the night....
No Spanish - so three words saved me - taxi, hotel, airport :D:D
(If we are naming and shaming, it was an act belonging to a certain person who was subsequently charged with animal cruelty for beating up a chimpanzee [who I had met when I went for the interview] - so I am not really very proud to have been associated with it.)0 -
Wow...running away to the Circus!! I can see the appeal...i suppose it wouldn't match up to the reality!!
Don't feel ashamed for being associated...you left after you discovered the cruel side to something so seemingly innocent. I'm sure a lot less people would go if they knew the animal cruelty involved behind the scenes (well, i hope!)"You dont need a weather man to know which way the wind blows"0 -
