Morning.. I feel quite emotional today. Think it's partly to do with quitting job no 3, I've done it for a long time and it feels like the end of an era! Had some lovely messages from the people on the site as well.

I'm also thinking a lot about how to sort out Mr S (and my) sleeping problems, we stayed up later last night - looking for meteors which we couldn't see! - but still woke up too early. Think we both need to do more, exercise-wise and mentally.. I haven't mentioned the Philosophy courses to him yet but I might send him the link later, might inspire him to do something similar and stop his brain stagnating so much with the lack of work.

I've also been thinking about how far I've come in the last few years - life is so much better.. .but also still a lot to do, hence wanting to do the courses, and sort myself out a bit health/ fitness-wise.

    Anyway, nearly the weekend :)

Hi Squizz - there's a phrase from history at college that always seems relevant to people in your situation (i.e. doing lots better, but still wanting more) - "the revolution of rising expectations" - believe it or not, it comes from the French Revolution :) when you're completely down and out, getting your next meal is a bonus. If your next meal becomes guaranteed, you want shelter. If you've got shelter and food, then you want ... well, more. You're on the up!

  • Hmm it is a very true statement re human nature. Funny really when we break it all down and as you say kc very relevant.

Well, I have decided to go ahead with the short course starting next month - to make sure I get a place I have borrowed the money from my overdraft account, to be paid back as soon as possible. I've bought the book, now just have to take that scary step of signing up for the course!

Will be trying to make it money neutral as I said so there's a new line in my sig..:)

MOOORRNING! :D Feeling unusually good for a Monday, something to do with a good sleep last night and it being sunny today I think.

Had a very lazy Saturday, stomach was being a bit weird again so wasn't feeling too good. In contrast had a very energetic Sunday - went for a walk which turned out to be very hilly, amazing views though. I had to fight 'lizard brain' on some of the steeper rocky bits though, got a little bit panicky and it's quite hard to calm yourself down when you're breathing hard from the exertion anyway! Managed to overcome it but the lizard had a small amount of revenge as I had dreams about falling off steep slopes last night

Cleared a bit of the veg bed yesterday too - broad beans had done their bit for the year. Now got more room for the butternut squash plants which are getting huge, and flowering :)

I have signed up to the Philosophy course, and ordered the text book - so now I just have to try and earn the money back somehow. Really looking forward to it :D

On a bit of a mission to sort the stomach out this week so avoiding dairy, trying not to have too much wheat, sugar or alcohol. Also going to try to pick up the exercise a bit as it obviously helps with sleeping!

That sounds a fantastic walk you did, how lovely! Good idea about the exercise helping with the sleep - and the stomach, actually.
