I'm just looking at the set book for the short course actually, I'd forgotten how much textbooks cost!
I am sneaky like that:D
Amazon For books plus put a call out on student board to see if anyone has any- you never know.Blackadder: Am I jumping the gun, Baldrick, or are the words 'I have a cunning plan' marching with ill-deserved confidence in the direction of this conversation?

They are a bit cheaper on Amazon - I might need to get doing some surveys again for Amazon vouchers.
Hmmm a money-neutral education, there's a thought!Debt@16.12.09 £10,362.38, now debt free as of 29.02.2012."I cannot make my days longer so I strive to make them better."0 -

It is very tempting as a plan.. although extra money work on top of the debt-busting.. still I can sort of manage the debt-busting from my salary, so 'study money' could come from job 2 and surveys etc.
I think I have decided on this short course - http://onlinecourses.conted.ox.ac.uk/coursequeries.php?id=O10P323PHV - it's £180 and the set book is £9 on Amazon, so that would be £189 to find to start off with.Debt@16.12.09 £10,362.38, now debt free as of 29.02.2012."I cannot make my days longer so I strive to make them better."0 -

That would be fab Bob, thank you
I think it would be a good one for getting my mind working in that way again. I'm in a bit of a weird situation because I have quite indepth knowledge of some areas but have some big gaps in other areas because I haven't done a whole degree.

The problem with that course, well the one i did-is that there is no definitive answer as to what knowledge is. The thinking behind it goes off in tracks as well. The bits i found the most interesting is that without realizing it-society defines our definitions of knowledge- absolutely fascinating and one which will be debated endlessly.Blackadder: Am I jumping the gun, Baldrick, or are the words 'I have a cunning plan' marching with ill-deserved confidence in the direction of this conversation?

Ahh that's what I love about Philosophy - following lines of argument and possible theories, rather than there being definitive "right answers".
The society idea is very interesting indeed *adopts thinking pose*Debt@16.12.09 £10,362.38, now debt free as of 29.02.2012."I cannot make my days longer so I strive to make them better."0 -
