Moment of madness up date - they got back to me and said that it is possible to transfer credit from courses I've already done in the same subject area, but it would have to go to a committee to decide it.
To complete the degree you need 18 modules, and I think what I've done could potentially count as 4. You can do 4 per year, so I could potentially finish it in 3 years... still quite a big undertaking. They have several entry points through the year so there is no great rush... I think I'd get some financial support but would still need to save up a bit for it.Debt@16.12.09 £10,362.38, now debt free as of 29.02.2012."I cannot make my days longer so I strive to make them better."0 -
You're going to have to *want* it.... do you? I can hear that you love the subject, but thats different from the slog of doing a degree part time ..... especially when you've, you know, got a life!2023: the year I get to buy a car0

I'm thinking about testing the water with a short course from Sept-Dec this year, see how I cope with the studying. I do want it, I want the knowledge more than I want the bit of paper, but it has become a bit of a sore point with me that I have all these odds and ends of qualifications. I could do it over a longer period of time but I think that might drive me crazy!Debt@16.12.09 £10,362.38, now debt free as of 29.02.2012."I cannot make my days longer so I strive to make them better."0

I feel a definite mixture of fear and excitement towards it all! Need to figure out if I can get £180 spare together before the September course start, should be OK though.
Tiiiiired this morning - last night was great though, film was so funny (I love the little aliens) and meal was really good, deal at Strada with a voucher (and Mr S paid
).
It is turning out to be a bit of an expensive month though between lots of little things, although I still have £300 left in the bank (and that £80 still hanging around on prepaid card). Need to be a bit careful though if I want to meet the debt payments I'm aiming for, and pay for that course.
Mobile contract ends today so need to sort out something new. Have definitely quit job no3 after a bit of discussion, which feels very much like, well leaving a job - a relief, but sad at the same time as it's something I've helped with for about five years.
Maybe swimming tonight if we feel up to it. Mr S is having trouble with waking up really early and feeling very tired, I've suggested we try staying up later as I'm the same to some extent, the trouble is we're both sleepy early.
Right... work and stuff!Debt@16.12.09 £10,362.38, now debt free as of 29.02.2012."I cannot make my days longer so I strive to make them better."0 -
Its juggling, isn't it - the debt focus is fantastic, but when you're in it for longer than a few months, you really need to be able to have a life too - thats something that I forgot last year, which I think is why I got so ill.
Enjoy the swimming.2023: the year I get to buy a car0 -
I feel that it is something you want to do Squizz, the enthusiasm is there and i am sure you will find a way. After all you will having nothing to lose by having a go, yes there is the money, but in the long term it is a good investment.Blackadder: Am I jumping the gun, Baldrick, or are the words 'I have a cunning plan' marching with ill-deserved confidence in the direction of this conversation?
Still lurking around with a hope of some salvation:cool:0 -
Definitely juggling! Had a good walk at lunchtime so that's another one for the fitness total this week. Also bought Red Bull to counteract which may not be the best move.. already feeling a bit :j
Brain is not quite functioning today so am trying to do work that doesn't involve too much concentrating - you know when you know you're likely to make mistakes...?
Just remembered there's the meteor shower tonight, maybe we can stay up late watching that!Debt@16.12.09 £10,362.38, now debt free as of 29.02.2012."I cannot make my days longer so I strive to make them better."0 -
