I buy postage stamps from charities to raise funds. I am not a business but just a private individual who wants to help any charity I can to fundraise in this way. I am a stamp collector so that helps too and I love sorting through to see if I can find a new stamp for my collection. The waste is recycled afterwards so it cuts down in that way too.
I work with around 100 charities to fundraise so if anyone is keen to collect stamps to raise funds for their charity, school, organisation please feel free to let me know.
It won't make a fortune but it is better than throwing them away.

Hi Jet44, I'd like to know more about how this stamp thing works. I'm thinking of collecting stamps for a animal welfare group in Crete but don't know the first thing about it. As you're a buyer perhaps you could help me?

What do they do with them when they've got them?

They sell them to stamp dealers who may sift through them but generally sell them on as 'kiloware' - ie sell them at so much a kilo to collectors. Some people also buy them in the hope of finding sufficient unfranked ones to reuse and defray their costs.

I've usually dopped of a carrier bag full either to my local Red Cross or Oxfam shops - I tend to do it at Xmas and June/July.

My Mom collects the used postage stamps from everyone in the family to support the RSPB Save The Albatross campaign. If you click on the link below and then choose the "Get Involved" tab it gives you full information on how and where to send the stamps :)

Hi - Do you still buy used stamps? I have been collecting them to help raise funds for a local self funded equestrian club to help pay for the junior team's equipment and kits. The club is called Durham Horseball Club and is accredited by the British Horseball Association.
