Sadly, that's a bit like asking 'how long is a piece of string'. Postage these days is calculated by size AND weight, so it depends how the stamps are packed ...
If you go to your local post office they should be able to give you a guide, or you can look online.Signature removed for peace of mind0 -
Hi,
I collect all my used stamps for the Hypermobility Syndrome Association. Both myself and partner both have the rare genetic condition and this is one of the the many things that I do to help the charity.
You can send your stamps to:
Mr Rapley
Foxglove Cottage
Bookham Street
Great Bookham
Surrey

Please note `The HMSA' on the back of the envelope when sending.0 -

I've wanted to give my used stamps to charity for ages, but I didn't know where to send them. Now I can start saving them.
I've often wondered what possible value used stamps could have - please can someone tell me how charities benefit from them?
At Oxfam, they sort them and sell them in their shops, so all the money goes to the charity not to dealers. There are still alot of stamp collectors around - it's an investment.0 -

I would disagree that it is an investment nowadays, having been left several crates of stamps and first day covers I have been unable to sell them or dispose of them at all. A local charity shop did take some, but they were terribly apologetic and said that basically they just parcel them up and sell them as scrap by the kilo and they suggested I might do better to keep them.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. Hi, I also collect stamps (along with other things) for fundraising for the charity Home Counties Boxer Welfare.
I find it very difficult to get them now, most people cant be bothered.
Its all a bit time consuming but all the stamps donated are sorted, trimmed, weighed and sold in 1kg bags normally.
Just wish I could find a good source of them though.

I too was wondering what kind of people would buy "normal" used stamps ...
I found this link that makes sensible ..Not really that exiting ..Reading.
http://www.stamp-shop.com/kiloware-advice.htmlMany charities collect stamps as a method of raising funds. This article is intended to give guidance to charities, whether new to stamps as a fund-raiser, or “old hands”.

Does anyone know if there are still charities who take used stamps?
We collect them at work, have done for years, but the charity we used to send them to no longer accept them.
Thanks0 -
The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints (Mormon Church) in Davemtry Northants, is collecting in aid of Oxfam.0
