  • still managed not to buy anything for myself despite going to watford today. did want a laura ashley dress but they did not have my size. it is available online but am waiting. still quite dear at £52 despite being in their sale.

skirts are really expensive as well in per una. one i liked was £45. there are so many clothes everywhere and i am not even sure i am over keen on all the long cardigans. make my legs look short.

not sorry about buying the jacket though as i have been wearing it all week.

I'm doing really well so far. I've not even been tempted apart from the dress that was returned.
I actually threw away a load of stuff the other day. I'd just firnished 6 nights so all of my used undies were in the washing machine/ drier/ wash basket. I put all the socks in DH's drawer as I wear his M&S silver socks (the ribbed ones because they hold their thin shape). They fit us both and I see no point in having my own socks that he will wear when he can't find any and then stretching them.
Sooooo, I looked in my drawer. I had loads of thick black tights. We don't wear dresses at work anymore, we're in scrubs. I don't wear them out of work. I had some neon socks I bought for work but they make my eyes hurt and my feet smell. I also had some nasty bras and period knickers.
So I binned the lot of them! Goodness only knows why I was hanging onto this parp (apart from the fact that I can't be ar5ed to empty out my drawers that is!).

Have today spent my Ebay rewards voucher on 6 pairs of opaques in the following colours 2 x Teal, 2 x Berry, 1 x Red and 1 x Mocha a bargain at £5.00. Ebay vouched covered the cost so no spend. I thought I could introduce a bit of colour to my outfits at little or no cost to me.
  • Kaz, well done on the clearout, i love the feeling after a good clearout.

Morocha, we can make it a no buying 'stuff' if you want to, so you can curb your make - up addiction (says a self confessed make-up junkie)

Debie, i am LOVING coloured tights atm, mainly beacause i havn't included them in my no buying clothes so i have been refreshing my wardrobe and wearing dresses with differnet tights an colour combos. Today i wore a jersey dress with blue tights and a blue belt, i had lots of compliments and i have to say i felt good in it. I also have a few heavy cotton skirts from summer that i may be able to 'winterise' with tights, the possibilitys are endless!! What do you plan on wearing your with?? what colour combos will you put together ( i am very excited about tights- can you tell?? lol)

  • Hi would love to join you all, I have worked out a plan to pay off my credit card debt in 12 months and it leaves zero for buying clothes, but even then I would like to save to pay off my loan 6 months early so it might be extended to 18 months with no new clothes  but for now will just aim for 12 months. I like the fact we can still accept gifts of clothes :D
  • Nichart, welcome on board!!!! I have a dfd of January 2011. I am bloomin well determined to not go back there ever again. Have you already a wardrobe full of clothes??? I have been sellin stuff that no longer fits or i don't love and turnin it into cash so i can 'buy' new clothes. I have to say that having a set amount to go shopping with really focuses the mind and makes me determined not to make mistakes.

We can also accept 'donations' of clothes from friends or relatives, i have the rejects from my younger sis so this also adds a bit of interest to my challenge.

Sharon I have a couple of dresses in the wardrobe which were not worn last year, one has a green and purple print, one has a wine print and the other a blue kind of print so I thought I would team them with said colour tights and assorted shaped cardigans. I also bought a fab pair of riding boots with buckles from Principles in January still unworn in my wardrobe and thought I could wear this also with coloured tights/dresses.

DD bought me 2 pairs of green opaques from primark yesterday for 50p a pair and also 3 leather belts from Wallis for £3.00 each :A they are lovely belts I am so pleased.

She has been saying for months that I do not accessorise enough with belts, jewellery and scarves and she is brilliant at pulling together a look for me.

Because I wear a suit for my job which is quite formal with a shirt and scarf, I tend to wear tracky bottoms and hoodies when at home, if I pop out I tend to pull on a pair of jeans and a top, DD calls this "dressing down" and says I should make more of an effort which I know she is right.
