Congratulations Sharon on the 3 new arrivals great names :j, so sorry to hear that one died.
I'm still plodding through my stockpile Katie, still have a way to go, I am focused and determined and will not purchase any new items.
Nichart enjoy your shopping with your very generous mum.
Have a good evening

Aww Sharron, sounds great- glad to hear that 3 of the pups are doing ok- look forward to the pics!
I've been sorting through my toilettries and found out I've enough stuff to last me over 6months (some maybe a year)- will probably need to buy toothpaste, cotton wool pads, mascara and deodrant in this time but have loads of makeup and shampoos/ shower gels etc. I couldn't believe it when I found all the unused gifts and things I've stockpile when they've been on offer. That was a nice surprise although made me realise what a spender I've been!0 -

I started using up my toiletries after last Christmas and still haven't bought any shower gel or soap!! The biggest challenge has been using up all the body lotion type stuff as I don't bother with it much normally, however, lavish it on on holiday and have been using it as hand cream and when shaving my legs. I think doing this helps you learn a very good spending lesson for the future!! In fact I now completely by-pass the toiuletries area in the supermarket now. When I need stuff I work from a list and buy whichever decent brand is available in the £shop/Home & Bargain type shop.0 -
Oh, stop! I have sooo many toiletries and makeup items unused and have been on a buying spree at Avon and the Body Shop with all the recent bargains! To say nothing of the Boots skinnies where they kept giving them out even though I was only spending 86p!!!!
My stash is embarrassingly huge. I am going to go through it all and make a note of what I have and shame myself into NOT buying anything else will it's all used up. I love a bargain but should realise that there will always be another bargain before what I have runs out!!!
... and breathe. :rotfl:

i am afraid i have failed badly at this challenge and have bought some new clothes in half term but i am really pleased with what i have bought and even managed to get a dress on ebay for £1 plus postage.
i am definitely a bit more selective with what i buy though and try not to waste money.0 -
OMG, as much as it pains me to say this I'm going too. "Can I join in please?"
Well after tomorrow because I need a trip to Primark to get some winter essentials. All mine from last year are stretched beyond recognition thanks to the little munchkin that is my darling son (and TBH I have cut down what I spend drastically on my self, although I now spend it on the munchkin)
So can I join on this basis?
1. No purchasing of any clothes with my own money (ebay profit, gifts and gift vouchers allowed)
2. I will update and dye my existing clothes so hopefully prolong and update them.
3. I love the idea of only spending the munchkins (real name Lewis btw) child benefit on clothes (unless he really, REALLY needs something) but in all fairness he has so much anyway and will probably get loads at Xmas.
4. The OH doesn't really buy many clothes anyway.
5. I am not a shoe fiend but I will try not to buy shoes unless I desperatley need them (i.e. soles falling off etc)
So again, using all my will power i am asking, can I join, pretty please?0 -

I was doing so good with my challange of not buying new new clothes and only going to charity shops until last week. After having to do a mad late night dash to my friends about 100 miles away to help her when her ds was rushed into hospital. We then found out he had Swine Flu so I was stuck for 7 days with 2 days worth of clothes. Ok i thought I can wash them until i put on some trousers i had brought with me and found that they had shrunk in the wash and was about 4 inches too short. I had to go out and buy some new jeans. Oh the shame LOL. They were only 8 pounds. I will console myself with the thought that as i have recently lost weight and dropped a size i will be shopping again at my fave charity shops for smaller sizes.0

I suppose some people just love to buy themselves new bits and pieces so its difficult to give up, so good luck with that.
If it were a competition though I think I would win as I can go years without spending anything on clothing.
Shame noone is running a comp actually.0
