Tine I totally understand your thoughts :) but to me having 2 MWs all to myself at home I actually felt safer than when I was in hospital (and nothing was negative really for me in my 1st borth in hosp) If anything where to go awry I feel that 2 experienced MWs with me constantly would spot it sooner than one very busy MW (or even several different ones) popping in and out of a delivery room.
But I also think Susan put it very well yesterday with the 1 in 100 theory :)

    Morning,
I get my TCs paid 4 weekly. Think they're due soon, it's always on a Thursday, then CB 11 days after that on a Monday.

Well we managed to get up and ready for school this morning. Josh decided that his shoes weren't comfy - pity that he told the woman in the shop that they were  Anyway I have made him go to school in them (bad mum that I am!) and funnily enough he forgot all about it once we were there and he was playing in the new climbing frame!

Going to boobie group in an hour - I'm a bit nervous actually!

DH got called out at 2am. He never even made it to bed as he'd fallen asleep on the settee.

If I see people such as JWs or sales people coming then I hide in the kitchen! If I have to answer then I open the window instead of the door - it doesn't make me feel as much in their 'clutches'!

Caitlyn's fast asleep on me now, think the school run wore her out!

I sometimes think homebirths are an unnecessary risk as well. But again, that's just MY opinion. I wouldn't dream of stopping someone else from having one, just would never want one myself. I couldn't live with myself if something dreadful happened to the baby because we couldn't get to hospital in time. Maybe it's the time spent working in hospital, I have seen the worst that can happen, so of course THAT is what goes through my mind, the "what if"'s .....

being at home to deliver to me (and I appreciate this is my personal view here!) is unhygenic, dangerous and unnecessary... We have all these highly trained medical people - why would you NOT want to be where they are in case anything went wrong???
I don't want to be rude and ignore you but I think it may be sensible to leave the discussion about home vs. hospital birth. If you want me to I will answer your question but I feel that by continuing to answer, it makes it look like I am suggesting that everyone should choose home over hospital births (which I am not). We obviously have differing opinions of home vs. hospital birth (which is fine as everyone has to make their own choice) and I can't see that further discussion would be constructive.

I would like to add though that while I am pro-homebirth I am not totally against hospital births if the mother wants one or if there is a medical reason and if say my child had for example anacephaly I would not hesitate to go for an elective CS in order to give him or her the best possible chances.

I also want to say that I do not think you have been rude or objectionable in any way - it's just that we clearly disagree on this issue and seem to be going round in circles so it is seems best to stop while we are still being nice to each other.
Any question, comment or opinion is not intended to be criticism of anyone else.

What a crap day today! It's lashing of rain and super windy, not going into town now! Was going to pick up the Art Easel from the ELC and put it away for Keira's Christmas, think I'm going to get bits and bobs each month, that way we don't run the bank right down in Dec!

We use up OH's pay every month without fail, It's my smoking and Diet coke that costs a lot, and I wonder why I have no money to buy clothes (I practically live in jeans, tshirts and hoodies because all my other stuff is wrecked or too big!) I have no idea about fashion and always feel jealous when I see people in town all casually dressed but looking good with it, with accessories, colour co-ordinated etc.

Oh texted me earlier saying "ask your mum to babysit so we can go on a date" Nice but I have NOTHING TO WEAR! Well I'm sure I have something, but I just wish I could dress myself nicer, or at least know what things "go" BLAH!

We always keep £500 in the bank, we try not to fall below that and that's kinda our safety net.

    Must stop smoking....

Here I sit, waiting for mine to arrive ... wondering if it'll be one of the same girls as last week or a different one again ... hoping they'll remove this c/s wound dressing and put on a new one ... and passing the time on MSE ...
Things are different everywhere. I only had a dressing on for a couple of days and that was only because a hole appeared.

Lexi is coming on in leap and bounds! :T
I'm very jealous of another fab freebie!!
I'm alright today. OH's first day at new job yesterday and he seems a little happier, which is good. I'm off for coffee and clinic today, and post letter to Doctor. Need to phone Childminder, she wondered if we could make it tomorrow instead of thursday. Nervous!
    ...
Still feel a little sad, tired and worn out. Really need to go and visit my Mum and have a break.
ooh check you busy bee! It's a shame ur mum is so far away, I don't think I could move so far away from mine :o
