ooh I find it hard enough to manage the 3 accounts I have! LOL
Have you heard from child benefit or had any?
I think we sent them off at the same time but I've not had the payments for Ed

I think I've got nearer ten accounts :o

Yup, got a £200 back payment and had first payment of £80 three weeks ago, I think. I know the next one is due next Tuesday :) Got the back payment before I got the letter telling me I was getting it of course!

ETA: What's bugging me about CTC is that I got a back payment of £285.00 and I want to know how on earth they worked that out cos entitledto.com says we'd only get the basic £50 a month..

ETA2: MDW's post reminded me - I have £22 in 1p, 2p, 5p and 10p. Will see how I feel in the morning - might take them into town or might just walk down the road to the mini bank and pay them in.

The Comms Nurse seemed to want to encourage me out the house.. was giving me a few dodgy looks, as if to say "Are you sure you're okay?!" - made me think of Triggles and her HV! :o

well I've technically got more because stupid halifax won't close my 3 empty accounts:rolleyes:I even got an annual statement the other day that said start 00.00 paid in 00.00 end balance 00.00 :p They won't close them because when I signed the form to close them my signature didn't match the one they had on file (from when I was about 10!!) I need to check coz I've got a saving acc I've not looked at for over 2yrs and there was something in it but not sure how much :o

I had better phone about child benefit then, I hope I didn't make a mistake with the bank details! I did manage to fill in the return address label wrong so it possible :rotfl:
I have know idea how WTC/CTC works so not a clue about it

I went to join the library today (took my time lol) but I forgot to ask about the toddler bookstart pack  and I've just realised that the woman told me about the kids stuff we could go to but didn't mention if we need to book a place or just turn up and I'm wondering what people do with prams, the library is in a really old building and there was barely room for mine never mind a group of them.

I liked the TT pump btw, only got 3oz but was't expecting much more. Any suggestion for stopping condensation in the tube? I don't see how I can avoid it coz the bits are wet from sterilising and drying with something obviously would make it unsterile!

You phone about CB and I'll phone about CTC in the morning and we'll compare notes later! :D

I think the instructions with the Swing say leave it running for a while after you've rescued your nipple back from it to get rid of the condensation. After using it continuously for eight weeks plus mine was looking a bit minging to be honest so I just got new tubing for it! :o

Right, I must try to sleep.. just wrote a to do list and my handwriting is barely readable! You try sleeping too missy! :p Night night xx

    Morning! Just caught up...

I'm on the Fergie checking shift now. Me and OH are playing to our strengths (night owl married to Lark), he checked he was rousable every half hour to an hour up til 2.45 and now it's my turn...

I'm not sure about a christening/dedication service for fergie. DH and I are both spiritual people, but the big family event thing is tricky for us because of issues with DH's sister. So I think for that reason we'll have to steer clear! Fortunately it doesn't look too weird not to these days, so I don't think we'll get any pressure :)

Bruno, how's OH doing? Any further chats about your mum's visit? As others have said, I'd be tempted to be very clear with your mum about whatever timescale OH agrees to. I know for myself one of my hard things with my MIL is when I don't feel she respects my boundaries, and time is quite an important one for me! Not sure whether that's true of OH but worth a thought... P.S I had another thought, but it seemed more appropriate to pop it in a PM, hope that's OK :)

Glam, glad you and Jack are back home :) It's lovely having you in the parent club :)

    Back in a bit...

Morning everyone. Havent really had time to keep up with you all the last few days. Weezl, im i hope Fergus is okay this morning and I really hope you get some help for his bottom. I have bowl problems and really wouldnt wish them on anyone.

Think Rose is having a growth spurt...All I did was feed her yesterday and had to increase her bottles to 7oz. She did sleep from 6.30 last night till 6.30 this morning tho without waking at all. Not even for her dummy.

We managed to find a door bouncer at a car boot sale on Sunday and tried Rose in it yesterday. She seemed to like it but only managed a few minutes and was then tired!

Here is a photo I took of her yesterday!

Hooray! Alexandra slept from 9 through till about 7 this morning! woohooo! With a little luck we're on another run of sleeping through nights - just in time as daddy is away tonight!
Tomorrow we have a "date" with another mummy and her little boy and possibly one or two others from our parents group that we went to when babies were about a month or so old :)
SM - try asking on freecycle for a baby monitor. You never know... :)

The whole christening debate... Alex will eventually be christened - I'm however not stressing about when because not only am I not christian - I'm pagan... so having issues with anything churchy :) We didn't get married in our beautiful picturesk village church because I felt it would be disrespectful towards people who do believe... although ironically I was both christened and confirmed... the latter mainly because it mattered to my grandparents whom I loved very dearly and would have done anything for...
Alex will be christened because of several reasons - unless you're christened in the church in our village or have lived here for 20 years (actually might be more...) then you have no right to be buried here... That may seem an odd reason to some but it's one that matters to me.
Then there is the fact hubby wants her christened. He wants her to have "proper" god parents - why I don't know... and finally - because DHs mum is VERY religious and frankly we have enough trouble with her without opening this argument up too...

Whilst hubby isn't religious then he's not keen on my pagan views either but then I never flaunt them in his face at home and we've never yet had a disagreement about it. I intend to let Alex learn about all the religions I can and she can then make up her own mind. If she wants to be a Buddist or Catholic doesn't matter to me :) So long as she doesn't try to convert me ;)

(I'm also the only person I know who'll stand and have a discussion on her doorstep with jehovah's witnesses... eventually they end up running away mwarharharhar - I guess I should warn them at the start that my stepmum was a jehovahs witness and I think she's the wicked witch of the east... but heck it's just so much fun to argue with them and pick holes in their beliefs ;) )

  • Morning each.

Hope everyone with tumbling babies, Weezl especially, is ok. These stories are making me start to childproof the house, as well as hearing of a toddler drinking some rinse aid at the weekend (for a dishwasher? I don't have one so don't know) eventhough there was a lock on the door. Must get some cupboard locks.

Just steaming a pear to death to mash later. I'm on day 4 of Annabel Karmel and for a baby who is never hungry and very rarely cries to be fed she's doing so well, I'm so proud of her. Also doing some finger foods in the evening which is fun.

Must also thank peeps on this site for posting about testing baby stuff. I signed up for bizzie babies (nothing yet) but also as a Tomy tester after googling. Yesterday I got a huge Winnie the Pooh play mat. She's a bit old for all the functions and I'm a bit of a Disneyphobe, but it's free and something new to kick about, so we're happy. No paperwork or email though so not sure what to do with it. Anyone else tested for Tomy?
