In about April or May there was a huge lottery Jackpot and every week hubby says - 'shall we win it this week or shall we let someone else have it?' On this particular saturday the jackpot was £15M or something I said that we would win it that week because then we could make all our family millionaires too! We were in the car at the time and we asked DSS what he wanted if we won the jackpot...

...DSS thought for a while and then said 'I think I would like to go to Alton Towers' :A

any idea what to leave as feedback on ebay when..
Seller said they were on holiday and couldn't post until Aug 24th (so I waited and paid on 22nd)
They said they posted on 24th by 1st class but only arrived yesterday (9days after posted) and they used stamps so I can't see if they did actually post it on the day they said.
I can't think what to put!
Is there not a postmark? The first thing they do when they bring the letters in is postmark them so if it's been delayed by the post it would be after it had been postmarked. I believe there are some strikes around at the moment though.

Does anyone know why our house has a spider infestation?

They are all the same sort, really huge (for the UK...), like the leg-span of a palm of the hand,
We've got the same - it's the time of year.

I went and stalked Savvy on her regular boards the other day, just to see if she was still ok and out there! I didn't dare speak to her out in the wilds of MSE though :p

I miss Savvy, make her come back!

You dss is so sweet, I hope you all have a superb day!

Sleep update: Well, we calpoled her up after the second 'waking up screaming like she was being murdered' incident and had a miraculous night, she slept from 10ish to 3.15 fed for half an hour then slept until seven! I did the traditional waking up wondering if she's alright thing but I still got a much much better night! Hooray hooray hooray! I love sleep!

Anyway, why do we have them and how do we make them go away? Any suggestions? :( I don't know what OH will do if we once see one at Elijah's cot or on him or anything like that! We'll be in a B&B til the fumigation is complete!

I think it is just the time of year. Mind you, it does seem to be worse than normal this year. We are up on the 3rd floor, so don't normally get many, but we have quite a few this year. Must be the weather or something? Aparently they don't like chestnut oil, so you can get sprays with it in to put across doorways and places where they come in. Not sure how it would stop them coming up the plug hole though? Maybe leave the plug in?

I've decided the monster needs some spare grannies. She only has one set of grandparents and they live 3000km away. There must be similarly geographically challenged grandparents here who'd like a little one to cuddle and she'd only benefit.

Could you voluteer to be a "befriender" at a local nursing home or somewhere? There is a website (just search for voluteering on google) where you can look up volunteering vacancies near you :)

I miss Savy too - I was wondering where she had got to!

    Sleep update coming up:

Izzy woke up about half 2. Used same technique (shhhing, rubbing back, counting) and got to 400 before giving up and feeding her. Still managed to put her down awake-ish after her feed though, so not all bad. When I got back to bed it was just gone 4am, so I'm nackered this morning :( Will try for a nap myself later. You never know, it might just work ;)

Oh, and it would appear that Izzy likes marmite. And she is willingly eating her cerial without a fight this morning too. So maybe naptimes and sleep tonight will be a bit easier if she isn't so hungry? ~crosses fingers~

Have a brilliant day MFD (and everyone else too!!)

I've noticed lots of big spiders too. I don't mind them and just leave them, but Craig is terrified and I have to catch them and put them outside if he sees one. There was a big one on the stairwell wall, so the boys called for the dog and knocked it off for him and he ate it :rotfl:

Thanks for the Timmy toy tip. Charlotte is another Timmy fan. Starting to think about things to put away for Christmas. It doesn't seem as much of an expense if you spread the shopping out :D

I haven't got any grandparents at all and I miss them :( Craig has 2 grandparents and I love both of them. They're a really nice couple and they've taken my boys on and treat them the same as Charlotte which really means a lot to me.

Awful day again here - really windy and drizzley. I bet Charlotte still wants her shorts on though
Here I go again on my own....
  • Oh - we were discussing shopping trolleys the other day - we have graduated to the big childrens seats now. I have to put her in the ones designed for having 2 kids, and put my bag next to her to stop her toppling over sideways, but she is much happier in there than in the baby seat :) Oh, and she too likes it when she gets to hold the cheese. She would love to hold the melon, but it is too heavy for her - she isn't as strong as she thinks she is!

Woohoo! I got a whole 30mls!! Started dripping after my shower so ran downstairs and got pumping :D

Hope my electric pump turns up tomorrow.

Sorry, being new to the Parent thread, I'm not sure if this is additional to you BF or whether you're purely expressing. I remember my joy when I got 30ml, followed by a really blue period when I found out another lady on the hospital ward was getting over 100ml a time! I'm now up to 50-60ml a session, and had my first spontaneous leak yesterday :rotfl: I miss the hospital pumps, I'm getting bored with hand pumping.

Hello everybody else. I apologise for not being able to keep up with this thread, it moves so fast!

But I thought I'd post, as I have really good news - Andrew was moved from the ICU to the High-Dependency unit last night, he's been promoted because he's doing so well!!!!

    That's great news Tigster, congratulations :) :j

Fritha, doesn't it make a HUGE difference when sleep suddenly starts going right? We had that for a bit, then it went wrong again, then right again... never a dull moment! Commiserations on your bad night Ladybird :( one night can be ok, if it keeps happening it's a real grind...

I sometimes resent the fact that even when we've had good periods, there's still maybe ... 5 nights total since Elijah was born (13 months tomorrow :)) that I've slept past 7.15am. I used to really like a weekend lie-in

thanks for all the spider agreements, sounds like everyone is being plagued! I'll give chestnut oil a go to ease OH's mind, and wait for the weather to turn ;p
