PS any other tips on what's likely to sell well would be great! xxx
My friend used to make home made cakes and fudge and they flew off her carboot stall... Best sellers were always 5 jam tarts for £1...

susan, did I accidentally sign up for a HV then?
I'll opt out in future too I think :)
I'm pretty sure you can't opt out from initial visits, they're like the midwife visits, there's a structure to them that NICE sets out... and they're the ones that fill in the red book...

Well, it looks like it's going to be yet another one of those nights again. Hersself just woke up after about ten minutes asleep yelling like she was being murdered! *sigh* I miss sleep a lot.
I really do know how you feel hun, and it honestly does get better... It must do because I was foolish enough to go through it all again ;)
Aimee has a clock in her bedroom because she knows not to come into our bedroom before 7am (apart from when Dave's on earlies and then he'll take her down at 6) She told me this morning that she looked at the clock at 1 and 4 and woke up at 6... She only looks at the first numbers so it could of been at any point within those hours... But she woke up, looked at the clock and went back to sleep... She didn't disturb us, but 2 years ago she would of... You're doing really great on not a lot of sleep, it seems like it will last forever but it won't, I promise :)
A very proud Mummy to 3 beautiful girls... I do pity my husband though, he's the one to suffer the hormones...
Krystal is so smart and funny and wonderful I am struck dumb in awe in her presence.

I have an apology ladies and gents, I just read my post about no one replying to me about elle and it sounded so blunt and rude I'm so sorry I didn't mean it to sound like that.

Becles/button I agree with what Becles said bout just hold her wrist tight and keep walking. El is only 21 months but it works. I've just got to be careful as she still has frgile wrist. Just make sure it's her wrist your holding not her hand as this is safer.

Elle Glad the App seemed to go ok. Do you have a date to go back and get results.

I feel really odd tonight, completely out of it. Spaced out and completely dettached and time is all weird.

I want a Grandma and Grandad present for my parents - a "thankyou" from Rhys for all their help with the house ;) Any suggestions - either for a gift or for where from? Was thinking mugs maybe..

Also getting Dad new work trousers (the type with kneepads in - he has some but needs new ones) and Mum a beauty therapy / relaxation voucher :)

Edit - missed this quote LOL!
Don't use shirtcity - the graphics are poop!
I got her back to sleep without feeding her. I did pick her up, as by the time I went in she was really screaming and sitting up, so I needed to calm her down. I rocked her while standing up and holding her tight/stroking her back shhhing till she calmed down, then I counted very slowly saying "good girl" and rubbing her back a few times before I got to the next number (and shhhing again if I needed to). I think she fell asleep around 80, but i carried on until 100, then put her down. She woke up and whinged a bit when I put her down, so I held her down and rubbed her back (I've perfected this into one firm but comforting movement ;) ) and carried on counting/rubbing/good girling, and got to 13 before I came out and cooked tea.
    no bad thing!
    Well done you :T

I've done the holding down stuff too ladybird - my mums eyebrows disappeared into her hairline when I said 'if he is restless when you put him down just hold his arms down on the cot and he will go to sleep in no time' :D I also used to stroke his nose (so he closed his eyes) and kiss his face and eyes (Benjamin loves kisses!!)

I also have sat by his cot and sung twinkle twinkle until my throat was hoarse!!

Benjamin has gone down in a dirty sleepsuit tonight!! I changed him earlier but then he sat with us and DSS whilst we had dinner and wanted a potato wedge!! Then he had a bottle with daddy and fell asleep so I just stuck him in a sleeping bag and left him to it!

i have a friend who worked in spain last year with her OH and is therefore down for tax credit purposes as earning nothing last year, they get SOOO much! she paid for her sons christening, the whole lot, with ONE MONTHS CREDITS! and then the next month spent £200+ on shoes and a dress for her to wear for it!
    MrsTine wrote: »
Won't she have to pay back anything at the end of the year that would be over this years entitlement?? They may base it on last years but surely any difference between last year and this year should be reported and credits therefor adjusted so they don't have a huge amount they then have to pay back... or have I missed a trick here?
What she said plus surely she still has to declare income earned in another country? wouldn't she still have to pay taxes to the uk? (that very last bit could be wrong)

LOL - it is annoying when they are just under a new lb isn't it!!! When Benjamin lost weight I was so worried about getting him weighed I force-fed him both boobies before we went and nearly cried when he did a big poo as we were leaving the house :o

Yup, I'd tried the feeding just before the nurse got here too - obviously too much! :o
Fingers crossed for a good result next week. Sami or AF - can you text me to let me know how it goes please?

Sod's law we'll still be waiting when you get back!
Has having Rhys made him think any differently about the job? One of my RL Mummy Friends is a Fireman and it is fascinating talking to her about going back to work...it scares the life out of me but she just says it is what she is trained to do and she loves it, couldn't imagine not going back.

I think it's just made him more determined to improve his future prospects hence the training, but he'd never not be a fireman. It's strange, I always said I couldn't be married to a bloke who did a dangerous job, like a solider, but I have no worries (day-to-day) about OH's job.. (do hate it when he's called out or late home, or when the alarms were going off at work and I had to stay in my office not knowing what was going on further up the site and if he was in danger.. :()

ETA: MFD, did you have something to say about Grandma/Grandad gifts? You quoted me but said nothing.. :(

He is around. Trying to sort dinner then bed. Not going too well, oven was at wrong temperature, sweet potatoes far too cooked, chicken far too raw and completely forgot about mash.
