I cried this morning after reading a birth story on the BS thread, does everyone keep up with it or is that just me?

I read the new ones too and often feel a little jealous:confused:

I so want another little baby but finances wont allow it at the moment but give me another 12 months and I think we'll be trying again.:D
Proud Mummy to Leila aged 1 whole year:j
  • I'm getting nervous!! Getting picked up at 11:45. Will be nice but always nervous. Need to change Toby first, his baby grow is a bit big on him and he looks silly! The ladies don't share my appreciation of silly clothes though, they dress thier babies in normal things.

Is a romper in this print too girly?

Angela, I'm sorry if I've come across wrong.. When I'm saying "Rhys can do X, Y and Z", I don't at all mean it in a "comparison" kind of way. It's purely a "look at this, the doctors said he'd never do it, please all share in my happiness" kind of way :o

According to the doctors, Rhys should be a vegetable, spending his future in a wheelchair, being tube fed and not getting a scrap of enjoyment out of life.. My telling everyone how well he is doing partially a thankyou to everyone for keeping me going and keeping me strong enough to be able to encourage him to do these things, and just believe that one day he might do them.

You are never going to find a baby who went through what he did - born lifeless at 31weeks, only coming round after 24minutes and suffering the amount of brain damage he did. In addition, the acidoses (sp?) in his blood almost killed him and there are still a lot of things which may bring the end a lot closer than 80-90 years.. On that basis, I'm just amazed at whatever he can do, regardless of when he can do it :o

Speaking of which, we have the brain scan this afternoon and I'm bricking it.. Aside from the brain damage, if the fluid hasn't gone it may mean surgery to drain it.. _pale_

elle we all know that's what you mean. And we share your huge pride in how well he's doing. Please pop on and say how scan was, I'm thinking of you :)

Angela, and MFD ah comparisons, yes a tricky thing :) I don't mind fergie not crawling yet tho, it saves me a fair bit of work just now! ;) Also, I think gestational age is important too, and so benjamin and seth are kinda older than they seem IYSWIM, cos they did more growing and developing in their lovely mummies :)

Don't worry MFD I'm not secretly worried cos of your lovely mobile boy, but thanks for thinking of me in the wee small hours :) I really agree it's lovely that there are differences. How else will I explain Fergie's first spreadsheet at age 2!!!!

went to rhyme time, it wasn't on :( oh well, the walk did us good

off to costco in a bit (for my buffet sami! :p)
