I am tired, and DH is helping as much as he can round his work. One week he is away out for 6am the next week he is on back shifts, though if he came home and went to bed straight away he would be able to get up at 8am and see to the boys, but he gets home at midnight and watches tv for an hour or so. Actually I think a talk is needed for next week...
My husband usually works evening shifts in December and he is the same. (Well not TV but he stays up for about an hour after he gets home.) He says that if he just went straight to bed he wouldn't actually sleep and he needs time to "wind down" first. Maybe it's a man thing.

oh sami, don't get me started on the 'economy' part of economy gastronomy! I do think it borders on unethical programme making, since TV is so powerful that lots of poor families will probably buy veal and boeuf en daube ingredients thinking, 'well it must be cheap, it was on telly'
It's the "Economy" bit of the title which I don't like too. I've been trying to think of what would be the right word to describe it as "economy" implies to me a much lower budget than they're describing. I think all of their economy budgets have been 2-3 times what we spend and I don't go for absolute super economy. Since the average family income is about £27000 I would think the average family wouldn't be spending more than about £7k on food which makes most of their economy budgets still larger than the average budget.

Searching, Toby does that, and also bangs on the keyboard. Think he sees me on it too much!
Alice loves to play at being on the "pooter". Sometimes if I'm feeding her while on the computer, she'll get into our bed and say, "Mummy bed, no pooter."

Oh no Sami... Sometimes it pays to wait a while... If they look and find out he's not working then they'll say he doesn't have to pay me... If I leave him to build up some arrears, when they catch up with him I'll get some nice back payments ;)

Just watching Rainbow on Nick Junior :D

Ooh thanks Weezl. I have missed the previous episodes and keep meaning to watch it. Just about to dish up tea. Put a meatball pasta in the slow cooker this morning, just cooking the pasta. I'm really pleased with keeping things up this week so far. I also have enough pasta sauce left for tomorrow and making special fried rice on friday.

Rose in now asleep ( hopefully for the night ). She has only had 3 cat naps of maybe 5/ 10 mins all day. Hope she hasnt got herself ove tired and wakes soon x

I also found a book on slow cooking today reduced to £2.99. I normally dont buy them as they nearly all have different variations of stews/ cassaroles in but this one actually had some really good recepies in x

weezl i bought the asda ones as they were 2 for £4 so i got one of each for erin and my nephew! i couldnt wait to get her to use it and it didnt take her long to work out what to do!
the restbite will be great as we will have time to do things as it is hard to take him anywhere and get things done! thanks for letting me know about your friend too sounds like she is having a positive experience! i feel relief that something is getting done but also fear over a label, does that sound silly?

have not tried the tub out yet sami might test it out on charlie first lol!

You'll have to tell us if you find any really good recipes. I love my slow cooker - have just set off some baked beans in it for tomorrow. I'm even thinking about asking for a second one for Christmas as I'm always having to wait for it to make something because it's doing something else.

Caz/weezl the tub/pot is very good, El loves it and it can double up as a 2 handled cup if you forget to take a cup.

Maz I would watch the tesco sofabed, my mum and dad had one it it was very uncomfortable to sit on and it was bu99ered after a year, the sofa part not the bed as it was hardly used!!! Not trying to put you off that is just their experience.

Ah thats a little bit more than we wanted to spend!!

Yeah... We looked at loads of them over quite a few months... as we have friends who need space when sleeping having a full doublebed sized one was really important! And it had to be a good quality bed as well as sofa as it might eventually need to be in a display area of any future houses we might move to...

This one was by far one of the best we found... we did grumble about the price for a while but decided it was worth it...
