  • That sounds promising Feely :)
A very proud Mummy to 3 beautiful girls... I do pity my husband though, he's the one to suffer the hormones...
Krystal is so smart and funny and wonderful I am struck dumb in awe in her presence.

so I've been a bad mummy and dipped the very end of her dummy in it instead and that helps settle her. Don't want her getting a taste for it though.
Choppy you could try a medicine dispensing dummy like THIS I got one that's similar from the pharmacy in my asda

Isn't this the same one who ruined your birthday?

Re dummies, someone on here was talking about cherry soothers so I tried those with Maddy (4th type we'd tried) and she took them. Got the newborn from superdrug but she didn't like them so got 0-6mths. It's bliss. X

  • Morning :)
Well we are back from the hospital, Dylan is now sound asleep so I have 5 mins to come on here.

Were really happy when we went in as it was the same pediatritian that went with Dylan to NICU in the ambulance the night he was born and he remembered us :) Very strong Asian accent and a bit hard to understand, but lovely all the same :p

Right, we have a full referral to an infant physiotherapist as he still doesnt have very good muscle tone and does not seem to be developing as quickly as he should be. He is concerned over the amount of time he has his hands in fists and his pure reluctance to open them to grab hold of anything, also that he will not turn his head to the right and that he still cant hold his head straight when lifted up by the hands (ie. still a bit floppy)

He was very appologetic at not being able to tell us much untill he has a full assessment at the physio, but we did find out that the initial diagnosis of TTN the night he was born was probably wrong, as most babies get over that in 24 to 48 hours and he didnt, they think it was probably Persistant Fetal Circulation which just means that the main blood vessle to his lungs didnt open properly when he was born.

So I am no further forward
We have been shown a few more exercises to do, try to make him look to the right and massage his hands open 5 to 10 times a day whether he likes it or not :o I think I may get screamed at a bit
He is taking 5 x 180ml bottles a daywhich is only 30ml less than the recommended amount for his size and weight, so he is happy with that though, so there was something good :D

Thanks for all the good luck wishes, it really does mean a lot :T

  • Thanks for the update MM, I'm glad it was a nice Doctor. Fingers crossed the referal comes through quickly, and toes crossed that Dylan doesn't mind the hand massage! Well done him for those bottles though, that is a good amount of milk!
