When breast feeding her she had a poo every 2/3 hours. That happenend the 8 weeks i was feeding her. Never went any longer. When i started FF she seemed to be having problems with going. She only now goes every 2 or 3 days. Now the HV seemed to think she wasnt constipated as her poo's are still really soft but she always explodes out of her nappy and the from as early as the day before she has her poo she seems to be bothered by pain in her tummy. She goes red in the face straining but still no poo for another day or so. It is still the same consistency as when i was BF her tho. Not hard at all. Any ideas? Could this be the amount of formula per oz/mls ratio?
Provided the consistency is normal they aren't classed as constipated and it is normal for them to strain etc
but as I say measuring the water in floz particularly if fully FF means over 24hr you could be giving up to 3 scoops too much formula0 -

You follow the directions on the box but the ones for mls so its 1 scoop for every 30mls as is marked on your bottles
my point was that if you measured 5oz its not enough water because there should be 150mls in the bottle but there would only be 142mls
Is that clear? I'm sorry it sounds right in my head but hard to explain in words:p0 -

How do you get the measuring so exact? eg 142 mls?could just be the magic poo change, Ed is similar as is choppy's Caitlin(sp?)

Correct spelling Sami
Yep, Rose's pooing is identical to Caitlin's - the frequency (pre-8 weeks and post-8 weeks), the consistency, the straining, etc. Caitlin was pooing in practically every nappy up until last Wednesday. She was 8 weeks and 3 days last Wednesday, so that would fit in with the eight weeks that you were BF Rose. She had her jabs last Wednesday too, so I think that may have affected her too, but it could also be a coincidence and her poos were going to change then anyway.
Either way, it's horrible seeing them squirming around in pain. Caitlin bucked the trend yesterday by doing one. She did a huge one on Monday morning, then a small one yesterday morning (it has been every two days). I was hoping she'd do a huge one this morning, but no sign yet. I've just had to settle her back down in her pram as she woke up groaning and red-faced.

Hi Tigs, congrats to you and Marley. It sounds like Andrew is doing amazingly well
MM - a bit late, but hope your appointment helped to answer your q's.
SM - hope your feeling better today.
Krystal -I've been having the same problem for the past few days. Liam wakes between 3 and 4, but is then wide awake - I spend the next upto 2hrs trying to get him to settle, popping dummy back n in and trying to get him off to sleep, usually with him waking as soon as I put him back down
Sami - I agree with the oz/mls thing, and GRRR, I hate the markings on the newer TT CTN bottles.0
