MSE Parents Club Part 5

Hellooooooooo!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Well, I didn't expect to find myself in the Parents Club this far ahead of schedule - 11 weeks early to be precise!
For those of you in the PC who don't know us, we (the proud parents) are Tigsteroonie & Marleyboy, MSE regulars - I live in the Arms, and he lives in the consumer threads. Our baby boy was due at the start of November, but due to placental problems, made a very early appearance two weeks ago (details of how/why posted here).
Our beanie Andrew (who will soon have his own MSE identity!) is in the NeoNatal ICU in Manchester, and is doing fantastically well for one so young and so small, already spending time off Cpap :A
I'd like to thank all those who "went before me", particularly Mrs-Moc & Ellie-G, whose posts in the Preg & Parent Clubs on here helped to prepare me mentally for a long stay in hospital and my baby being on the Special Care unit. From reading the experiences of others, I learnt of the importance of starting expressing early on, and Andrew is now being fed 6ml/hr of EBM, all intravenous nutrients have stopped
I will probably only be an occasional visitor in the Parent Club, mainly due to time pressure, we naturally want to visit Andrew in the hospital every day so that takes out the full afternoon. As I write, I'm sat waiting for a Community Midwife to get in touch for my first home visit ... And waiting for my Tesco delivery!:heartpuls Mrs Marleyboy :heartpuls

Thurs morning(ish) would be good for us
Gill Rapley, she's some kind of director for the baby friendly inititive, that's who you're thinking of btw Susan :-)
Well somebody's swapped babies on me and I want mine back, this one gets up way to early! 4am the past 3 mornings she's woken for a feed and not gone back properly... last night she started stirring at 3:45 but I left her a little because I wasn't sure she'd be hungry and she might of settled herself off... But nope... By 3:59 she was wide awake... Had a 20min feed and I tried to put her down, she whinged... I fed for another 10mins and put her down again... Cue 30mins of Caitlyn shuffling round the crib and 'chatting' to herself at full volume... At least she wasn't crying though and she did go back off again about 5ish... Only to wake up again at 6:30... Fed her, left her in my bed, she cried again about 7:30, fed her again... Cried again at 8:15, so I woke her up properly and got her dressed... I'm super tired again today... And this is kind of reminiscent of Aimee's early days... She would wake every couple of hours but take an hour to settle... Going to try all I can to avoid that again!
No plans today... But more ironing than you can shake a stick at...
Hope all goes well with the paediatrician MM
And welcome TigsteroonieA very proud Mummy to 3 beautiful girls... I do pity my husband though, he's the one to suffer the hormones...My Fathers Daughter wrote: »Krystal is so smart and funny and wonderful I am struck dumb in awe in her presence.

I wonder how long until I get my claim forms. Not even claimed yet
Hi MOTM - I phoned up for my claim form on a Monday and got it only four or five days later. They told me it would be with me within 10 working days, so if you've been waiting longer than that, it might be worth giving them a quick call.
I sent mine off last Tuesday, so it looks like I've got a long wait before I heard back from them as Elle has been waiting since 10th July and hasn't heard anything yet.poo poo poo
I was just thinking this morning that I should remind anyone that uses formula to make bottles up in mls not oz do you do that?
The boxes tell you to use (for example) 5oz/150ml water and 5 scoops but 5oz is actually only 142ml so if you make them up in oz's you're actually making it up too concentrated.
Please anyone doing them in oz don't feel bad, I did it too and its all the stupid formula companies fault for even putting oz on their packaging!!angela6834 wrote: »Sami, I thought you made up formula with one scoop per oz and not by mls?, I've never measured in mls!!!
Sami, I bet you can guess what I'm gonna say...I've been doing it in oz. I went with oz as, like Angela said, it is easier to remember "one scoop per oz". I'll do it in ml from now on though. I don't think the formula is the cause of the constipation, as she was on it for more than three weeks before she started being constipated but measuring it in oz and not ml certainly won't be helping.
Seeing as madam was up at 6:45 this morning, it meant she only had 1hour 45mins sleep between 3am and waking up, she is now out for the count in her pram. I'm making the most of it and have so far stripped half of our bed and emptied the dishwasher before coming back on here. Really should get on!!!
P.S. Sami - poo poo poo poo0
